For those of us who are lacking in the breast department, a breast augmentation surgery almost immediately comes to mind. But like any surgery, it is essential to be more well informed about just what the breast augmentation surgery entails. In the first part of the Dr Ng Siew Weng’s sharing session, he will let us in on more details and personal experience when it comes to a successful breast augmentation surgery.

Qn: Who are the suitable candidates?

Ans: Anyone who is unhappy about the size or appearance of their breasts.

Qn: Who are the unsuitable candidates?

Ans: Those who suffer from body dysmorphia and bleeding disorder.

Qn: What can breast enhancement help in the breast department?

Ans: A breast enhancement procedure is able to resolve many aspects of the breast. From droopiness of the breast, a lack of volume in the breast, a deflation of breast volume post breast-feeding to large and saggy nipples, a breast augmentation surgery is able to counter these various problematic aspects of the breast.

Qn: Implants vs fat grafting. What are the pros and cons of the different methods adopted?

Ans:

Pros of Implants

– they give you immediate results
– implants also offer assured volume
– implants only require one surgery
– the implant method is of a much lower cost than fat grafting

Cons of Implants

– the results may be as natural as fat grafting
– there is a use of a foreign object

Pros of Fat Grafting

– it gives a very natural finish

– it is all natural and does not involve a foreign object
– it may enhance a few parts of the body other than the breast since fat is removed from problematic areas

Cons of Fat Grafting

– results may not be immediate as compared to implants
– it requires more than 1 surgery to get the final results
– only about ½ – 1 cup size increase can be achieved for each surgery

Qn: Silicone implant vs Saline implant, which is a better choice?

Ans:  Saline is harder thus the breast will lose the natural softness and touch. Also, saline implants tend to leak so I would not opt for saline.

Silicone on the other hand is very safe as it contains a stable and cohesive gel which does not leak. As such, silicone implants are always the better choice.

Qn: What is done during the surgery for each method?

Ans:

Implant method

– As Asians lack volume in the breast, I usually place the implant behind the muscle (subpectoral) as this method allows more tissue to cover the implant, thereby giving a more voluminous result as compared to the sunglandular method where the implant is placed in front of the muscle which does not offer the added volume that the former can provide.

The implants can be inserted via three ways. The transaxillary (through an incision from the side of the breast), periareolar (through an incision at the nipple) and inframammary fold (through an incision below the natural fold of the breast).

For the choice of incisional position, I would highly recommend the inframammary incision as this has the lowest scar visibility if done by an exceptional skilled surgeon.

Fat-Grafting Method
Fat is extracted from the body through liposuction and the fat harvested will then be separated with a centrifuge. Upon extracting the fat cells, they are then used for fat-grafting.

I use a 2-hole method where fat cells are injected evenly and repeatedly around the breast.

Qn: Any lifestyle habits to change or eliminate before the surgery?

Ans: Avoid smoking.

Women want to be her and men want to be WITH her.  She may not be your typical K-pop idol or your Korean drama actress, but she’s none the less a favourite on the Korean celebrity circuit, that is, when she’s not heating up the international racing circuits.

Who are we talking about? If you haven’t already guessed, it’s Korean car race queen Im Ji Hye.

This leggy 1.72m beauty was first spotted at the 2007 Seoul Motor Show and has since landed on the cover of Maxim Korea magazine, along with numerous spots on Korean TV.

Her star has been on the rise since then, and today, we intend to give Im Ji Hye her full 15 minutes in the spotlight. We will spend the next 4 paragraphs discussing the Im Ji Hye plastic surgery procedures.

Is she the true beauty that we think she is or is it all Im Ji Hye plastic surgery? We’ll let you be the judge of that in the next picture.

If you did a double take at your screen, rest assured you weren’t the only one. We couldn’t believe what we discovered ourselves when we dug around a little, and lo and behold, found these gems.

In this before and after collage, the obvious Im Ji Hye plastic surgery we can spot is the nose. Lighting or not, in the first picture, the length of her nose is short and abrupt, ending in a thick fleshy snout, whereas in the second photo, her nose is more aquiline, with a more refined tip that shapes dainty nostrils.

This Im Ji Hye plastic surgery has rhinoplasty written all over it. The increased nasal bridge can be attributed to a silicone implant Gore-tex or a cartilage implant (the latter of which is the most popular amongst Korean plastic surgeons).

We’ve noticed that Asian nose jobs seem to produce a similar look when it comes to the nose bridge. It is unnaturally straight and of a certain height.

Unless you alter the rest of your face to suit your new nose, Asian rhinoplasty tends to stand out as it doesn’t fit well with the rest of the typical Asian features which tend to be flat and tiny in comparison.

The next Im Ji Hye plastic surgery will be easy to spot if you’re a girl. A girl obsessed with boob size that is. Asian girls are not particularly well endowed so when you see one with a good rack you tend to do a double take. The picture above says it all.

Going from an A cup to a C cup is every flat chested girl’s dream and it looks like Im Ji Hye’s plastic surgery has achieved it for her. The race queen went from bee stings to va va voom voluptuousness, no doubt with the help of her surgeon’s knife. We reckon the Im Ji Hye plastic surgery here is breast augmentation to increase the size of her boobs.

How can we confirm this Im Ji Hye plastic surgery? Well for starters, we can see that her boobs defy gravity and seem to be very full at the top of her dress. Natural breasts are more filled out at the bottom and look more like teardrops instead of cantaloupes.

Another dead giveaway that her chest is not the real deal is the fact that there is hardly any space between them. Breast implants shrink that gap significantly and her look like they are too close together to be real.

Another clue would be that her breasts seem too big for her petite sized body. Small boned girls usually have boobs that correspond to the size of their body and it is very rare to see a small sized girl with larger than average boobs, so there’s your clue between au natural boobs or store bought ones.

She looks pre-pubescent in the before picture, where her boobs hardly make an appearance in the dress, but in the after picture, she’s got her wares proudly on display. You know what they say: if you’ve got it, flaunt it and Im Ji Hye sure has got it! (from her plastic surgeon, not her mama).

So is that all the Im Ji Hye plastic surgery or is there more waiting to be unveiled?

This could go either way depending on who you ask, but we at PlastyTalk believe Im Ji Hye has had V-line surgery as well.  This probably wouldn’t be so obvious without a before and after montage, so here it is: Im Ji Hye and her much smaller jawline.

From the before and after pictures above, it appears as if her face has become longer, but in actual fact most of her mandibular on the side has been shaved off so as to give her the appearance of a small face, a trait highly prized in South Korea where most of the population tend to have large, square jawlines, giving them a rather masculine appearance.

Her chin and cranial length has stated the same but this V line surgery gives the illusion of a much longer and narrower face. This Im Ji Hye plastic surgery has improved her looks no doubt!

Let’s take a trip down memory lane of Im Ji Hye in her early years till where she is today.

We’ll be sure to update you guys in the future if Im Ji Hye decides to get anymore plastic surgery done, but for now, here’s a little rundown of her metamorphosis throughout the years.

In part 1 of Dr Ng’s sharing session, the professional gave insight on the dos and don’ts of pre-breast enhancement surgery. But just what do we need to expect and do after our breast enhancement surgery?

Dr Ng Siew Weng is back with more tips on post surgery care for the most optimal result you can have after your breast enhancement surgery.

Qns: What can we expect right after the surgery?

Ans: There will be an instant increase in size after the surgery. One can expect swelling, tightness, pain (very manageable) as well as slight bruising post breast augmentation surgery.

The tightness stems from the skin being stretched due to the new implants but once the skin stretches and adapts to the implants, the tightness will no longer be felts.

There will also be the presence of high-riding breasts right after the surgery but the breast will fall into its natural position after 2-3 weeks with the appropriate breast massage that will be taught to my patients.

Qns: What can be done about the scar after a breast augmentation surgery?

Ans: Broadband light treatment can be done after the breast augmentation surgery to lighten the scar. Steroid injection can also be administered coupled with a scar massage technique and you can expect the scar to fade with time.

Qns: Are there any foods to hasten the recovery process?

Ans: Herbal extracts are recommended to cut down the swelling and bruising.

Qns: When is a good time to go back to office/workout routine after a breast augmentation surgery?

Ans: Depending on the fitness level of the patients, but typically patients go back to work 4-5 days after their breast augmentation surgery.

I would recommend light exercise after 3-4 weeks after the surgery and as for heavy exercise, it is best to return to it only after 3 months after the breast augmentation surgery.

Qns: What is the recovery time and how long does it take before the swelling and bruising goes down?

Ans: Bruising and swelling is expected to go down in less than 2 weeks.

Qns: How long before the breast looks and feels natural?

Ans: Typically, it takes about 6 months before the breast feels natural to the touch

Qns: Any tips for patients from personal experience?

Ans: It is important for patients to have reasonable expectation when it comes to their breast augmentation surgery. Patients with sufficient fat store can consider the fat grafting method, on the other hand, patients which insufficient fat store should consider the implant method to give the best possible result for their breast augmentation surgery.

It is also vital that patients feel at ease with their surgeons and that their surgeons should give them a comprehensive understanding about the breast augmentation surgery that they will be undergoing.

To have a surgeon who is trust worthy and be more than willing to see you through the entire process till post op is something patients should look for in their choice for their surgeon.

Patients tend to be price conscious, but it is important to know that it is the end result that matters ultimately and they should find a surgeon who can deliver the optimal result for them.

He started out modestly enough — by just wanting a different nose. In the end, after up to 100 procedures, he was desperately trying to repair the damage done by reckless and botched operations and injections.

Michael Jackson, surely the most infamous example of the perils of cosmetic surgery, spent 30 years trying to achieve his idea of perfection.

A documentary, The 10 faces of Michael Jackson, have created a computer-generated image of how the star would have looked like without his addiction to plastic surgery.

But before we get there, let’s take a look at the Michael Jackson excessive plastic surgery transformation.

This first image shows Jackson before plastic surgery:

Some friends said he was modelling himself on Diana Ross, others that he just wanted to obliterate all resemblance to his hated father.

A new TV documentary about his surgery addiction reveals he was so nervous about the initial rhinoplasty (nose job) that he persuaded his older sister La Toya to act as a guinea pig.

Miss Jackson, 58, said: ‘He wanted to get his nose done . . . he kept saying: “What do you think? What do you think?” I said: “Michael, if that’s what you want, if it’s gonna make you feel better, get it done.”

Below image in 1993, Michael Jackson has got rid of his teenage afro and is wearing skin-lightening make-up. His nose seems to have been thinned again and cheek implants have been inserted. He liked the effect so much he had a third nose job the following year, increased the size of the cheek implants and had his eyelids ‘lifted’, which reduces bagginess and removes excess skin.

Below image is Michael Jackson in 1991, now 33 and living a reclusive life. After a fourth or fifth nose job, his nostrils have started to assume a triangular look. In 1992 he was spotted wearing a prosthetic nose tip to try to cover up the botched results of the surgery. He has a new dimple in his chin and has had chin implants to make it larger. He has started to look whiter — he later claimed this was a consequence of the skin condition vitiligo.

The year 1995 where Jackson, 37, is extremely pale thanks to frequent skin bleaching by a dermatologist and heavy use of make-up. He has also started to wear wigs. His friend, illusionist Uri Geller, asked why he was changing his appearance. Geller says he replied: ‘I don’t want to look like my father.’ By now Michael was married to Elvis’s daughter Lisa Marie Presley.

By the year 2002, Jackson has taped his nose, apparently to stop fluid from botched surgery from leaking into his mouth. He wore the tape at all times during this period. Leading rhinoplasty surgeon Dr Pamela Lipkin said: ‘I think something in his nose, a graft, an implant, has now come out through the skin and that’s why he’s probably got a hole in his skin. He has what we call an end-stage nose, one that’s beyond the point of no return’.

Below in 2009 is Michael Jackson looking more feminine shortly after the birth of his third child, Blanket. In a controversial documentary made by Martin Bashir, he claimed: ‘I’ve had no plastic surgery on my face, just my nose. It helped me breathe better so I can hit higher notes. I am telling you the honest truth, I didn’t do anything to my face.’ He also said he’d be happier on stage ‘wearing a mask’.

In 2009, Jackson, now 50, was in debt to the tune of £350 million. His friend Dr Allen Klein said: ‘It got to the point where his nose was far too thin. It didn’t look natural to me. I rebuilt it using fillers.’ He is missing part of his ear — the cartilage having been used to rebuild his face. He died of a cardiac arrest in June after being given drugs to help him sleep.

Body dysmorphic disorder expert Dr Eda Gorbis — who believes Jackson was suffering from the illness, where sufferers have a distorted view of their appearance — has claimed he had as many as 100 procedures.

Eventually his original features were almost completely obliterated, as was his ethnicity.

A documentary, The 10 faces of Michael Jackson, leaves viewers with the most heartbreaking revelation of that of a computer-generated image of how the star could have looked had he left his face alone — an attractive, contented black man with a warm smile.

Here at PlastyTalk, once again we have to emphasize that we do not support excessive plastic surgery. Procedures to enhance one’s features are acceptable, but not to the extent that we see here.

About 80% of people suffer from acne breakouts between the ages 11 and 30 and while it is a physical torture to deal with acne, it is also both a mental and emotional struggle for many.

Ms Sherlene Lian, like many, fell victim to a case of severe acne. Sherlene has always struggled with acne since her teenage years but none was as serious as what she had experienced 2 years ago after she embarked on her TCM journey to balance her internal harmony (yin and yang).

Bumps started to appear on her face after her treatment and soon after, it was a full face of cystic and angry acne. And while she turned to many alternatives to calm her flaring acne, none proved to be effective in the long haul, until she visited Dr Gerard Ee at The Clifford Clinic.

What began as bumps that could be concealed with make up soon took a turn for the worse.

Sherlene’s confidence took a plunge after many of her friends and acquaintances started to take notice of her severe acne and while she tried almost everything possible and spent a hefty (SGD $20K), none was even close to a possible solution. The blogger was so down that she became a recluse and detested the idea of going out.

However, things started to take a turn for the better when Sherlene found Dr Gerard Ee at The Clifford Clinic where he specialize in curing acne from its root through a series of laser treatments.

According to the blogger, her first impression of The Clifford Clinic is one that is “impeccably clean and professional”.

Dr Gerard Ee patiently understood Sherlene’s history with acne and under his professional advice, Sherlene took on a series of acne treatment, namely, AGNES Acne Treatment and Q-Switch Laser Treatment.

What is the Agnes Acne Treatment about?

According to Dr Gerard, AGNES is the latest laser treatment protocol from Korea. As our skin has thousands of sebaceous glands, AGNES will selectively destroy individual ‘problematic’ glands, leaving other healthy glands untouched.

The treatment is a long term cure for acne, with a low acne recurrence rate.

Apart from that, there is no need for topical cream application resulting in peeling, so side effects are very minimal, making the treatment safe for pregnancy and breast feeding mothers.

This treatment is performed over a 2 days period, and for someone like Ms Lian, it will require 2-3 AGNES treatments to fully cure her severe acne.

However, for people who have mild acne or blackheads issue, 1 session should suffice to solve your skin problem(s).

Pre-Treatment Pictures

Numbing cream is first administered to Sherlene’s entire face and left on for half an hour.

The first AGNES Acne Treatment involves a full face drainage with extraction, which took over 45 minutes for the clinic staff to clear her face of pus, dirt and blackheads.

Post 1st Treatment of AGNES Acne Treatment

Slight swelling and some sebum was oozing out from the extracted areas after the first AGNES Acne Treatment.

2nd Treatment and Pictures of 1st AGNES Acne Treatment

The AGNES machine from Korea is used in the 2nd treatment after the extractions. This process involves an hour of meticulous scrutiny with a microscope from Dr Gerard Ee as he targets the acne infected pores with a tiny burst of electrical energy into 700-800 via a very fine wire, a pore at a time.

According to the blogger, “my face was burning red and it looked as if I had contracted some kind of leprosy.

However, Dr Gerard assured me once again on the results, and mentioned that this procedure is highly effective since each insertion will cause that diseased pore to stop producing oil, ultimately destroying the selective sebaceous gland. I guessed that was comforting to hear immediately after the treatment.”

The above pictures were taken on the night of Sherlene’s first treatment. According to the blogger, “those treated areas dried up and my face looked absolutely horrendous.

The only clear area on my face is the region around my eyes. My acne looked much worse than my pre-treatment condition.

I wasn’t that certain of the treatment anymore and I just felt so disgusted looking at my dirty complexion.”

Pain Level of AGNES Acne Treatment

As for the pain level, Ms Lian states that she has a relatively high threshold for pain. The treatment felt like tiny zaps of electricity against her skin. She would rate the pain level for the treatment a 4/10.

Last session of 1st AGNES Acne Treatment

Sherlene had to return to The Clifford Clinic to see Dr Gerard Ee for her 2nd part of AGNES Acne Treatment the following day.

The last treatment was mandatory as it involves the use of Radio Frequency machine with full-face drainage to clear off the remaining debris from the initial treatment.

The entire process was swift, taking less than half an hour to complete. Sherlene was not allowed to put on makeup for the next 3 days after her treatment.

What seemed to be a face of angry flaring acne after the 1st day of treatment calmed down tremendously after the 2nd AGNES Acne Treatment.

According to the bloggers, her “acne no longer looked as frightening as Day 1 of the treatment. The redness appeared to have tamed, and my facial oil production was significantly reduced.”

Day 2 after completion of 1st AGNES Acne Treatment

Ms Lian could not be happier about the outcome after her 2nd AGNES Acne Treatment as she could see drastic improvements just 2 days after her treatment.

Before Sherlene switches over the the Q-Switch Treatment, she was prescribed a number of treatment gels/creams during this period to prevent bacteria inflammation.

According to Dr Gerard, one of the products will trigger a minor pimple outbreak, before Sherlene starts to see acne clearance.

Day 3 after 1st AGNES Acne Treatment

Just as what Dr Gerard Ee has warned Sherlene, on day 3, pimples started popping up on both of Sherlene’s cheeks.

Aside from the fresh pimples, there is a slight color discoloration of her acne marks. The color changed from bright red to dark brown.

Day 4 after 1st AGNES Acne Treatment

Although there was still a growth of pimples, however, the redness that surrounded her acne previously was starting to subside.

Day 6 after 1st AGNES Acne Treatment

Unfortunately, Sherlene suffered from an allergic reaction to the topical products that were meant to prevent bacteria infection after her AGNES Acne Treatment as Ms Lian has always had a set of highly sensitive skin.

According to the blogger, “My skin felt extremely taut and dry. Fine lines around my under eye area started to develop, and the redness on both sides of my face was hideous.

It seriously resembled that of a red baboon’s ass from afar. Aside from the allergy, it was the first time after months since certain regions on my face felt smooth (without bumps) to the touch.”

After the first round of treatment (AGNES Acne Treatment) to combat her severe acne problem, Sherlene is ready to begin on her second round of treatment (Q-Switch Laser Treatment).

What is Q-Switch Laser Treatment?

Q-Switch Laser is one of the most technologically advanced lasers. The laser works by delivering clinical light quickly with intense energy and pulses are absorbed by the treated area, breaking down the pigments into smaller pigments, which are then eliminated by the body’s natural lymphatic system.

1ST Q-Switch Laser Treatment

No numbing cream is required and the entire procedure lasts for only 10 minutes. Under Dr Gerard Ee’s expertise, Sherlene has to go for one laser session every 2 weeks to expedite skin rejuvenation and the healing of her acne marks.

Dr Gerard Ee was always candid with Sherlene and has truthfully told her that in her case, Q-switch laser treatments will not help Ms Lian achieve a 100% acne marks clearance, but that she should expect at least a 75%-90% clearance and a lightening of her acne marks and brown sunspots.

Having battled a severe case of acne for the past year, a 70% clearance is according to the blogger “deemed an achievement considering my (her) brutal acne condition.”

Dr Gerard gave her assurance that Q-switch laser will reduce the acne marks after any pimples breakout, at the same promoting brighter and luminous skin!

Sherlene’s face looked burning red and tanned after her first session of Q-Switch Laser Treatment to which Dr Gerard Ee generously offered a complimentary Casmera green mask to sooth and calm Sherlene’s face.

The downtime for the Q-Switch Laser Treatment takes approximately 2-3 hours for the redness to subside and makeup can me applied immediately after the procedure.

Pain Level of Q-Switch Laser Treatment

According to the blogger, “Q-switch laser treatment is mildly comfortable and the sensation is akin to having rubber band snapping on your skin. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate the pain level a 1/10.” A note from Sherlene is that throughout the laser treatment, you might experience a burnt smell. The first time she did the Q-Switch Laser treatment, she’d thought Dr Gerard had accidentally burnt off certain region of her skin but Dr Gerard later explained that the burnt smell is only normal since facial hairs are being stung, much to Sherlene’s relief.

Recovery after 1st Q-Switch Laser Treatment

Sherlene experienced dry and flaky skin after the 1st Q-Switch Laser Treatment. And although  she had minor acne outbreaks on my cheeks and forehead area, Sherlene noticed that they healed fairly quick.

2nd Q-Switch Laser Treatment

In the 2nd session, Dr Gerard Ee increased the intensity of the laser and no mask was required after as Sherlene’s skin had gotten accustomed to the laser treatment.

3rd Q-Switch Laser Treatment

Again, Dr Gerard Ee increased the laser intensity for the 3rd round, and the intensity was maintained for subsequent laser sessions. This was done to promote a deeper skin rejuvenation and to reduce her skin redness.

Recovery after 3rd Q-Switch Laser Treatment

Sherlene saw a tremendous improvement after the 3rd Q-Switch Laser Treatment session. Both her skin’s texture and appearance looked clearer.

After her 3rd session of Q-Switch Laser Treatment, Dr Gerard Ee advised Sherlene to go on the 2nd AGNES Acne Treatment. As the AGNES Acne Treatment has a 3 day downtime, Sherlene advises to go for the treatment on a Friday so as to have sufficient time to recuperate after the procedure.

Again, Sherlene had to go through the repeated process of a full-face drainage with extractions, similar to her 1st AGNES Acne Treatment. However, the 2nd time took less than 30 minutes, as the extraction process was much faster due to a vast improvement of her acne condition.

After the extraction process, Dr Gerard Ee once again very diligently introduced 400 shots into the acne prone pores. After the treatment, Sherlene’s face felt extremely raw and red to which Dr Gerard applied Foban cream to those treated skin regions to minimize inflammation.

After 2nd AGNES Acne Treatment

The next day, Sherlene went back to The Clifford Clinic to undergo the Radio Frequency to clear off any remaining debris from the treatment the day before.

Recovery after 2nd AGNES Acne Treatment

Sherlene monitored my skin condition closely after the treatment, and she was more than pleased with the results.

For those concerned about wrinkly old skin, it might be an ingenious solution: a stretchy “second skin” that can be smoothed on to make aged tissue look more youthful.

The wearable film developed at Massachusetts Institute of Technology has shown promise in a series of small trials where it was applied to wrinkles, under-eye bags and patches of dry skin.

The so-called XPL (short for cross-linked polymer layer) is applied in a simple two-step process that creates rather miraculous results. The first layer is made up of polysiloxane components, while the second is a platinum catalyst that causes those polymers in the first to connect and form a strong film that can withstand washing and other wear and tear, for up to 24 hours. The research was published today in Nature Materials.

“It’s an invisible layer that can provide a barrier, provide cosmetic improvement, and potentially deliver a drug locally to the area that’s being treated. Those three things together could really make it ideal for use in humans,” says Daniel Anderson, an associate professor in MIT’s Department of Chemical Engineering and a member of MIT’s Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research and Institute for Medical Engineering and Science (IMES).

The layer is designed to be applied in the morning, then peeled off and disposed of at night. In pilot studies, the second skin withstood normal daily wear, and the stresses and strains of exercise and swimming, without falling off or causing irritation. It also weathered exposure to rain.

“It’s something you can wear for a whole day or longer depending on the physical forces that get applied to the area where it is worn,” said Daniel Anderson, who helped develop the product at MIT. “You can’t tell you’re wearing it.”

“You can rub it from the corner and peel it off. But it doesn’t do that under standard manipulation. We don’t want something that falls off,” he added.

While normal cosmetics can mask imperfections on the skin, the new coating changes the way skin behaves by giving it the elasticity of young skin. It was developed with help from two MIT spin-out companies: Living Proof, a cosmetics firm, and Olivo Labs, a medical company.

With more work, they believe the films could be used to mask port-wine stain birthmarks, to protect the face from UV rays, or to treat skin disorders such as eczema. Another hope is to create films that contain drugs, which can be released slowly onto skin to treat disease or wounds.

The physical properties of the film are tuned to match the elasticity of young skin. Once the creams are mixed on the face, the layer takes about three minutes to reach full strength. The film is nearly invisible on the skin, but in tests the edge of the film became noticeable in two out of 25 people after 16 hours of wear.

The most impressive results came when the scientists applied the film to under-eye bags, the flaccid skin that can appear under the eye, particularly in older people. By compressing the loose skin, the polymer film improved the appearance of the eye bag to a level that had only been achieved before with invasive surgery. Next, the scientists gently pinched the under-eye skin and showed that the coating made the skin spring back into position much faster.

The researchers went on to test whether the layer improved the elasticity of skin elsewhere and showed that skin recoiled more quickly from pinching on the forearm. Skin loses its elasticity with age, so restoring its stretchiness makes it appear younger. In a final test, the film proved its ability to prevent moisture loss on patches of dry skin.

If this technology takes off, soon everyone can have wrinkle free skin with just a splash of cream. Amazing!

Surgeons in Boston have performed the first penile transplant in the United States, a procedure that soon could help severely wounded troops, surgeons at Massachusetts General Hospital said Monday.

Thomas Manning, 64, whose penis was removed in 2012 due to penile cancer, is recovering well and showing no signs of rejecting the transplant, his surgeons said.

“Today I begin a new chapter filled with personal hope and hope for others who have suffered genital injuries” Manning said in a statement.

Manning, a bank courier in Halifax, Mass., underwent the operation on May 8 and 9. The surgeons who led the 15-hour procedure, Curtis Cetrulo and Dickens Ko, said they were “cautiously optimistic” Manning will regain full urinary and sexual function.

“He’s doing well so far,” Cetrulo said at a news conference Monday. “He is up and out of bed. Emotionally he’s doing amazingly well. He’s a very positive person.”

Manning has been cancer free for about four years, the physicians said.

The surgeons stressed the psychological aspects of such transplants.

“He went through rigorous psychological screening,” Cetrulo said, adding that Manning “wants to be whole again. He doesn’t want to be in the shadows.”

Cetrulo said the transplant work was inspired by the injuries suffered by wounded warriors. He said such injuries suffered on the battlefield can leave servicemembers isolated and despondent — and contemplating suicide.

Cetrulo said his team plans to further develop transplant protocols on civilians, noting that Defense officials are hesitant about supporting experimental surgeries for servicemembers.

“We hope to make this kind of experimental surgery safe and routine,” Cetrulo said.

More than 3½ years of research and teamwork among dozens of specialists in plastic and reconstructive surgery, urology,  psychiatry, infectious disease, nursing and social work culminated in the transplant, Ko said.

“There is a huge sense of collaboration,” Ko said.

Massachusetts General is one of five transplant centers across the nation approved to perform penile transplants.

Cetrulo and Ko began researching the possibility of performing a penis transplant in 2012, shortly after an hospital team led by Cetrulo completed its first hand transplant. Working closely with the New England Organ Bank, both surgeons developed surgical approaches.

Alexandra Glazier, who heads the organ bank, thanked the donor family and said the family was “delighted” to hear the transplant was a success. The donor provided other organs to other transplant patients as well, and saved multiple lives, Glazier said.

“We offer our thoughts as they struggle with their loss — and our humble thank you, deep appreciation and admiration for the humanity they showed,” Glazier said.

A team of South Africa surgeons performed what is believed to be the world’s first successful penis transplant in a nine-hour operation in December 2014. Stellenbosch University said last spring that the patient had regained full function in the transplanted organ.

There is a growing trend in the UK and other parts of the world of more teenage girls undergoing vagina related procedures.

Konbini reports that unhappy teens across the globe are turning straight to labiaplasty – a cosmetic surgery which tightens the vagina and reduces the size of the labia.

“There is insurmountable pressure on young women to be perfect, down to their vaginas,” he explained. Yes, because aside from thigh gaps, perky breasts and smoothly shaven everything, now we have to worry about having perfect pussies, too.”

In the past, the surgery was typically reserved for women who have given birth, but now teenage girls looking to enhance their lady parts have been asking for cosmetic genital surgery.

There are of course legitimate reasons to seek out labiaplasty  such as enlarged lips can sometimes get caught in underwear or cause pain during sex.

As pressure on both men and women to look ‘perfect’ (whatever perfect is) continues to grow, there has been an 80 per cent increase in the number of teenage girls asking for labiaplasty in the past year alone.

In the last year alone there has been an 80% increase in the number of girls that requested labiaplasty compared to 2014 (from 222 girls to 400 girls), and a 2013 British report found the number of labial reductions on girls and women done by the National Health Service (England’s public health care system) had increased fivefold over 10 years.

The skin slackens further, with a loss of contouring at the jaw line, first frontally, then moving laterally (jowls).

With so many K-pop girl groups in South Korea, it’s hard to stand out amongst the crowd. But one group that does stick out amongst the rest, not least because of their catchy music and 7 member group is After School.

This South Korean girl group formed by Pledis Entertainment in 2009 follows an admissions and graduation concept.

Right now, the current class of 2015 consists of Jungan, Uee, Raina, Nana, Lizzy, E-Young and Kaeun. But what everyone reading this would really like to know is what After School plastic surgery each member got.

Kim Jungah Plastic Surgery Transformation

Let’s begin our After School plastic surgery analysis with the main vocalist and dancer of the group Kim Jungah aka Jungah.

Following the graduation of Kahi in 2012, Jungah was chosen to be the new leader of the group, no doubt for her amazing vocals, slick dance moves and killer looks.

But did Jungah always look this good or did a little After School plastic surgery have something to do with it?

Based on the before and after picture above, we have reason to suspect Jungah has had a little After School plastic surgery help in the nose department.

There are two possible surgeries in this picture. From what we can tell, it looks like Jungah has had V line surgery and a chin augmentation.

Her jaw was large, square and asymmetrical in the first picture but the second picture shows her with a tapered down jawline that culminates in a nice V shape at the end.

The reason we think she had a chin implant is because the surface area of her chin was small in the first picture, but the second picture shows her with more real estate in that area, proving she might have had genioplasty, where a Gore-Tex implant is inserted to elongate the chin and add length to an otherwise short face.

Kim Yu Jin aka Uee Plastic Surgery Transformation

Up next in the After School plastic surgery discussion is Kim Yu-jin, better known by her stage name Uee.

The singer’s first appearance with the group was in 2009 and she has since acted in various television dramas which is only natural given her degree in theatre and drama from Sungkyunkwan University.

Back in 2012, the star was entangled in a web of controversy when she sued her former plastic surgeon for using her photos to promote his services.

As such, there is no doubt that Uee has had After School plastic surgery.

Both photos above show a belly baring Uee, the only difference being (aside from her outfits) that one shows off a toned mid riff whereas the other one shows someone with a flabby muffin top belly.

To be honest, the before picture isn’t exactly an obesity 911 but in celebrity circles having that amount of tummy fat is akin to career suicide.

Of course her current slim physique could be attributed to diet or exercise, but being a celebrity with access to the best beauty treatments and surgeons, we think Uee might have taken the easier route via liposuction.

This procedure works by removing fat from the designated area using a suction. Tiny cannulas are inserted into the skin to target the fat deposits.

This After School plastic surgery must have worked because Uee has gone from flab to fab and she knows it!

Having dealt with her flab successfully, Uee probably felt brave to undergo After School plastic surgery for her nose as well.

The before picture shows her with an ugly short nose and a big tip. In the after picture, she’s spotting a much higher nasal bridge via rhinoplasty, and while her tip remains bulky, it is slightly raised as well.

It appears that Uee did not just stop at her nose as she’s had her eyes reshaped too. As per usual, it’s not surprising Uee has had blepharoplasty to remedy the problem of having single eyelids.

Her uneven eyelids made her eyes appear asymmetrical but post-surgery, she appears to have more symmetrical eyes.

We also think she’s cut the inner corners of her eyes through epicanthoplasty as we can see more of the eye whites than before. This After School plastic surgery has sent Uee’s looks from a 4 to a solid 9.

Noh Yiyoung aka E-young Plastic Surgery Transformation

Multi talented Noh Yiyoung, better known as E-young makes up the fourth member of the group. E-young plays the guitar, electric guitar, bass, drums, piano, flute & cello and has won countless awards for singing, dancing, and cello playing.

But talent is not enough to go far in the entertainment industry. You need to be gorgeous too and E-young has achieved that through After School plastic surgery.

This before and after picture collage shows E-young pre debut and post debut.

E-young had a lovely nose to begin with and to be honest, we didn’t see a need to alter it as it was narrow, didn’t have such a bulky tip and had enough height for her face.

E-young’s current altered nose is reminiscent of a Michael Jackson nose job. The bridge and the dorsum look unnaturally pinched and too narrow and high while the tip is so pinched it looks more like a bird’s beak than a nose.

We know convex is better than concave when it comes to noses but maybe this nose job got a little too convex for our liking.

Lee Kaeun Plastic Surgery Transformation

Lee Kaeun better known as Kaeun is the maknae of the group but this does not let her off the hook from suspicion of After School plastic surgery.

The singer just turned 20 and her facial features still have an opportunity to change and develop if she doesn’t do anything to them. Let’s check out if she’s had any After School plastic surgery or not.

Judging from the pictures above, it seems as if Kaeun has maintained the same eyes, nose and facial structure from her pre debut days till now.

Perhaps we’ll be writing a feature on her in the future if she does decide to fix her face but for now, she’s clear of After School plastic surgery!

Oh Hye-rin aka Raina Plastic Surgery Transformation

Oh Hye-rin  better known by her stage name Raina, is the main vocalist of South Korean girl group After School.

Raina debuted with the group in November 2009 following the release of the group’s second single, “Because of You”.

You’d think juggling a career as a lead singer in two pop acts would be too much to handle but Raina seems to be doing just find.

The singer has come a long way since her pre debut days and we’ve got the pictures to prove it!

The before and after collage above makes it very obvious Raina has done something to her eyes.

How does one go from small, squinty, tiny, barely open eyes to something that is big, wide and round without any effort?

The not surprising answer is After School plastic surgery of course. Raina had blepharoplasty and epicanthoplasty to get double eyelids and enlarge the surface area of her eye whites.

Out of all the After School members, we can honestly say Rania needed this the most!

Having achieved success with her eyes, Raina must have decided to get a nose job as well. Her nose is severely lacking in height and length while oversized in the tip area.

Raina had her nose bridge increased and narrowed down. She also had nasal wing reduction, as shown by the prominent crease on her alar where extensive alar shaving has been done.

This After School plastic surgery has certainly helped Raina elevate her looks to K-pop idol material.

Im Jin-Ah aka Nana Plastic Surgery Transformation

We move on to fellow group mate Im Jin-Ah, better known as Nana to fans. Before her debut as a member of After School, Nana was a participant in the 2009 Asia Pacific Super Model Contest.

Nana is a licensed makeup artist and also has a membership at the Makeup Artists Association. With such extensive beauty knowledge, we’re sure Nana is always red carpet ready.

But there was a time during her pre debut days when this was not always the case, and instead of makeup, Nana might have turned to After School plastic surgery instead.

She may have gone blonde in both pictures, but it’s clear Nana’s eyes have been altered with After School plastic surgery.

Nana has the typical Korean eyes, small, narrow, single eyelids. Fast forward to her post debut days and she’s suddenly got bigger, wider more shapely eyes.

We can attribute this transformation to blepharoplasty and epicanthoplasty, surgeries which have changed the way Nana’s eyes look.

Of course, just like Raina, Nana also followed suit in the nose job department.

Her nose is clearly short with a bulky tip in the before picture, but the after picture shows her with a slim, narrow nose instead.

That isn’t the only thing Nana has lengthened with After School plastic surgery as you’ll find out below.

Unlike Raina, Nana didn’t stop at the K-pop combo pack. Oh no. She went a step further in the After School plastic surgery and had her jaw done as well.

Nana had a what you would call a typical Korean square jaw, where her mandibular bones were very prominent and making the lower half of her face look big.

Nana has had 3D square jaw reduction to reduce the size of her jaw and get rid of the overly angular look.

As we can see, Nana’s angular jawline has been reduced and there appears to be a seamless line that connects her jaw to the rest of her face.

Park Soo-Yang aka Lizzy Plastic Surgery Transformation

Next up in the After School plastic surgery analysis is final member of the group Lizzy, born Park Soo-young.

She is a member of the girl group After School and its sub-unit Orange Caramel. She debuted with After School in 2010 with the release of their third single, “Bang!”, and debuted as a solo singer in 2015 with “Not An Easy Girl”.

She has acted in films and television shows. Lizzy has shown that she can accomplish whatever she sets her heart out to do and this a go getter attitude extends to After School plastic surgery as well.

We can see from the pictures above that Lizzy, just like her other group mates has had something done to her eyes.

No matter how wide you open your eyes when taking photos, your eyes will never be as big as how they are in the after photo.

At least not if you are born with ridiculously small eyes like Lizzy. She’s done blepharoplasty as well as corner cutting to achieve the shape and size she has today.

With a pre debut nose like that, we’re not surprised Lizzy’s before nose wasn’t doing her any favours on the beauty front so it’s only natural she had After School plastic surgery to get it fixed.

With rhinoplasty, she managed to tone down her bulbous tip and increase nasal height and length in her bridge. This has given her much better facial harmony compared to before.

Now that we’ve dissected each After School plastic surgery, let’s take a look at their “graduation” from pre debut to debutantes of the K-pop industry.

Here is one for those of you who always wanted bigger breast but don’t want to go under the knife. Unfortunately in this particular case, it shows that going au-naturel doesn’t necessarily mean its a good thing.

This woman from China has found a natural way to make her bust more bountiful – increasingly from a C cup to an F cup without the need for breast augmentation.

40-years old Ms Wang from the city of Jinhua for all her adult life has had a very respectable C cup breast. To many people, C cup is already very sizable and apparently she felt the same way.

Four years ago one day, her breast started to increase in size and her breasts began to gradually grow bigger. It was first to a D and then quickly to an F cup, all within two years.

Being unable to find a bra that will fit her very sizable new bosoms, she had to take two bags to tie around the neck to lift her heavy chest, attracting unwanted attention from others. In fact, her breast had became so elongated that it sagged down to her naval. Her body, arms and legs however, remained very slim.

As her breast became so huge, she began to experience severe discomfort that made her unable to sleep at night. Being unable to tolerate this condition any longer, she went to Tong Yun plastic surgery centre in the city of Jinhua and pleaded with the doctor, “I’m suffering, please cut off my breasts!”

As it turns out, she is diagnosed with a medical condition called macroomastia, which is a serious medical condition where the breasts grow to an unsustainable size, in this case, about 2.5kg.

As related by the plastic surgeon Dr Tong, her condition only got worst the past two years as her breasts instead of growing bigger, started to grow long instead.  That was why she needed to use the bag to tie around her neck to lift her breast.

She had difficulty breathing, difficulty sleeping and difficulty standing up because her chest weighed so much. On top of that, she attracts strange stares to her huge chest which to a Chinese woman is utterly embarrassing.

In the end, because of this medical condition, Ms Wang required the removal of the entire breasts.

To ensure the success of the breast removal procedure, Dr Tong invited two other renowned plastic surgeons from Italy and Spain to operate on her.

Even with three plastic surgeons, the entire procedure still took 10 hours.

Approximately 2.75kg and 2.25kg of tissue was removed from the left and right breast respectively. That’s a total of 5kg of tissue from the breast!

In the case of the 40 year old, Ms Wang has showed us the flip side of the coin, where she turned against the mindset of the bigger the bust, the better it is. While many go under the knife to achieve a more heaving bosom, Ms Wang, on the other hand, has taken the road less traveled, going under the knife to achieve the exact opposite, relieving herself of much discomfort and unwanted attention.  So for those of you who are contemplating a breast enlargement procedure, keep in mind, F (cup) does not always stand for Fabulous.

Thankfully, society isn’t as closeted as it used to be and the rise of meterosexuals have made it ok for men to “beautify” themselves. Yet, is plastic surgery still a domain that is off limits to men?

Kim Minjun aka Jun. K Plastic Surgery Transformation

The K-pop boy band 2PM have proved otherwise, with most of their members having undergone 2PM plastic surgery.

Lead vocalist Kim Minjun, generally known by his stage name Jun. K, is one of the participants of 2PM plastic surgery.

For instance, there’s proof of his nose job in the before and after collage above.

While men might not be so vilified for having big fleshy noses like their female counterparts, big noses are nonetheless frowned upon if they’re ugly and too big for your face.

Jun-K has clearly got his broad nose bridge shaved down and the alars reshaped to be much narrower.

His new nose is reminiscent of a Roman statues’ and we have to say it makes him look much more appealing than before.

Nickchun Buck Horvejkul aka Nichkhun Plastic Surgery Transformation

Moving on to the next 2PM plastic surgery, we’ve got fellow group mate, Nichkhun.

Born Nickchun Buck Horvejkul, the Thai American singer, model and actor was scouted by a talent agent at the LA Korean Music Festival.

So did someone who was talent spotted have to undergo 2PM plastic surgery?

Well this picture doesn’t show any sign of 2PM plastic surgery. If anything, his eyes actually seem bigger pre debut.

Or perhaps he’s squinting from the sun in the after picture. Regardless, we know for sure Nichkhun is free from 2PM plastic surgery to his eyes.

While the previous 2PM plastic surgery could be classified under medical purposes, this one is purely for aesthetic reasons.

We’re talking about Asian rhinoplasty of course. While Western rhinoplasty involves shaving down the bones because they are too prominent, Asian rhinoplasty involves inserting an implant because there is not much height in the nose bridge.

As evidenced in the pictures above, Nichkhun has had this 2PM plastic surgery done to increase the height in his nose.

Does he look amazing? Definitely! Just ask this fan who got plastic surgery to look like Nichkhun.

Taecyeon Plastic Surgery Transformation

We continue this 2PM plastic surgery with 2PM’s main rapper Taecyeon.

The singer debuted as an actor in the Korean drama, Cinderella’s Sister and went on to become a main character in the KBS drama Dream High.

This heartthrob has been winning hearts ever since then. But there’s a catch.

This prince charming was once a frog if his pre debut pictures are to be believed.

Now we know aegyo sal is the domain of female pop stars but it seems like Taecyeon has jumped on the bandwagon and gotten himself some eye smiles.

These eye smiles are most prominent in young children, yet childhood photos show the singer lacking in this feature.

Now we see him with prominent love bands beneath his eyes, even though he is barely smiling in the photo above.

Well, looks like aegyo sal surgery is proving to be a feature that suits men to judging by the after photo!

Aegyo sal aside, Taecyeon’s other vanity point was his nose.

The guy obviously didn’t have the best looking nose as a kid, just take a look at the before photo above. Taecyeon had the typical flat Asian nose with a rather “piggy” looking tip.

Did puberty do him good or was it down to 2PM plastic surgery? We’re of the opinion it’s the latter as his nose bridge is ridiculously high for Asian standards.

Also, the tip of his nose has been made shapely. Instead of the nostrils only view he previously had, it is now hidden and better defined.

This 2PM plastic surgery has definitely turned Taecyeon from ugly frog to Prince Charming!

Jang Woo Young aka Wooyoung Plastic Surgery Transformation

The next K-pop heartthrob in line is Jang Woo Young, better known to fans as Wooyoung.

The lead vocalist and dancer was selected as a JYP trainee through MGoon’s JYP audtitions where he won first place against 5000 other candidates.

It’s clear Wooyoung was destined for stardom but did he always look like the hunk he is now?

Before and after pictures show Wooyoung to be pretty much the same person he was before.

But wait, what’s that? Do you notice how his eyes look slightly bigger in the after picture?

Although we acknowledge that Wooyuong still has single eyelids, his eyes have slightly improved in length.

We think the singer must have undergone epicanthoplasty to increase the horizontal length of his eyes.

Lee Jun Ho aka Junho 2PM Plastic Surgery Transformation

The next 2PM plastic surgery member almost got kicked out of JYP Entertainment because of his attitude, and it was only because his mother begged JYP to give her son another chance that he was allowed to stay in the group.

If you didn’t know who we were talking about, it’s Junho, real name Lee Jun Ho.

Apparently Junho was constantly smug about winning “Superstar Survival”. It’s obvious Junho has since changed his ways.

Our final hottie in the 2PM plastic surgery is Hwang Chansung, better known to fans as Chansung.

Before 2PM‘s debut, he acted in the sitcom “Unstoppable High Kick” so this superstar has been in the limelight for quite some time.

Considering that the eyes are windows to our souls, it is no wonder many women regard the eyes as the most crucial facial feature.

While slit-like eyes reflect an inadvertent sense of dullness, droopy eyes convey the perception of chronic fatigue.

Plagued by their baby-blue woes, many women like Yuki and her older sister, Joanne, sought ways to remedy their undesirable set of eyes.

Like every other lady who seeks perfection when it comes to their eyes, makeup was also Yuki’s go to solution whenever she wanted to create magic in those baby blues.

And while makeup seem to do wonders at times, the inconsistent result that makeup delivers as well as the sheer amount of time put in for that daily full blown eye makeup proved to be simply too cumbersome.

Although Yuki relied heavily on contact lenses to give the illusion of a more alluring set of eyes, her eyes scored at most an ‘ok’ in the absence of makeup.

Afflicted by the same baby blues agony, her sister, Joanne, turned to double eyelid tapes to conjure her double eyelid crease.

Like Yuki, Joanne hid behind her eye makeup for years but that all proved to be a thing of the past after they decided to seek help from plastic surgery.

Amidst her thorough research on double eyelid surgery aka blepharoplasty, Yuki’s friend who had undergone an eyelid surgery introduced Dr Shens to Yuki and Joanne.

Learning that Dr Shens was trained in Korea for scar less plastic surgery and advanced techniques coupled with the fact that Double Suture Twisted (DST) technique was one amongst the myriad of procedures that Dr Shens was a mastery of, the sisters were immediately impressed with Dr Shens portfolio and went ahead with a consultation with the expert.

Experience with Dr Shens

Upon thorough examination of their eyes, Dr Shens had recommended both Yuki and Joanne to opt for the DST technique which was not only less costly but had a much shorter downtime.

The DST method, which is meant for those with less excessive fats lodged on their upper eyelid, is Dr Shens’ strong suit.

Modifying his DST technique, Dr Shens’ signature approach allows the double eyelid crease to last a lifetime, a promise that other plastic surgeons may not be able to deliver.

Throughout the entire consultation, both Yuki and Joanne felt constantly assured by Dr Shens. Answering all their questions meticulously and providing past patient’s pictures as visual aids, Dr Shens patiently explained every detail to the sisters.

The Process of DST

Choosing the crease height

To determine the preferred crease height, Dr Shens used a Y-shaped prong to carve out the desired height. From high, medium to low crease level, the sisters were presented with all their options before they made their decision.

Being conservative, Joanne decided upon a medium height fold. Yuki, on the other hand, had to deal with her epicanthic fold where the skin fold of the upper eyelid covered the inner angle of her eye, causing her eyes to appear smaller and wider apart.

As such, Dr Shens recommended an Epicanthoplasty together with a DST to boost Yuki’s almond shaped eyes, making them wider and more alluring. Like her sister, Yuki also opted for the medium height crease.

Anesthesia

The anesthesia is required to not only minimize bleeding and accidental injury during the double eyelid surgery, but also to relieve any potential pain felt by the patient.

For Joanne, the anesthetic process was painless and akin the process to that of a small ant bite. Yuki, on the other hand, who had a phobia for needles and a low tolerance for pain, felt that the aesthetic process was slightly painful, especially when it came to the injection made to inner cantus.

On hindsight, Yukie advised to “relax yourself during the process, the more nervous you feel, the more tense the muscle and higher chances of oozing the blood vessels”

It’s Stitching Time

Before the double eyelid surgery procedure began, Dr Shens added a few drops of eyedrops into Yuki’s eyes, to which she felt a slight tingling sensation.

Understandably nervous, Yuki felt the tugging of her eyelids each time Dr Shens sewed the threads onto her eyelids. To Yuki, it was no more than a slight pressure with each movement and that the entire process was painless and free from discomfort.

Starting from the outer eyelid and working his way into the inner eyelid, Dr Shens asked Yuki to open her eyes at the end of the procedure for a final assessment of her eyes.

After a 15 minutes, a cold compress was placed over her eyes and in Yuki’s words: “felt so soothing”

Next comes Epicanthoplasty

Yuki was more nervous about Epicanthoplasty to the stitching process before the procedure. However, Yuki soon realized that the entire process was completely painless.

Cutting the inner lower eyelid from the insider, it was re-draped by a modified piece of skin. Yuki warned that a burning smell will be released and that it should not be a cause for concern as it is merely the burning of fats near the eye.

Cold compress was administered after the entire process and stitches were removed after a week.

Post double eyelid surgery and epicanthoplasty care

Yuki advises to never tug at the facial skin after the surgery and additional care should be given to the eye area.

Opting for gentle patting and wiping of her face rather than the traditional face washing process, Yuki found that to help in the healing process.

Additionally, Yuki religiously uses cold compress 10 mins per hour for at least a week.

It is important to take the prescribed antibiotics twice a day and painful killers should pain persists.

Wanting to speed up the healing process, Yuki bought antiphlogistic with extra formula from Dr Shens clinic that aids in the additional boost for the recovery process. Lastly, ointment has to be applied conscientiously on the stitched areas to prevent inflammation.

Post opt follow up and removal of stitches

There is slight but expected swelling on her eyelid but by the 7^th day, Yuki was able to put on makeup.

The removal of the stitches for the epicanthoplasty was not as painful as Yuki had anticipated and the result was very much to Yuki’s delight.

Her eyes were evidently brighter, sharper and bigger.

One month later

One month later and post double eyelid surgery/ epicanthoplasty have settled flawlessly on Yuki and Joanne’s facial countenance.

With the swelling out of the window, Yuki’s is back in action, this time, more confidence than before. Scoring herself a position in an advertisement, Yuki cannot be more pleased with her new set of eyes.

In Yuki’s opinion, Dr Shens’ mastery of DST technique is reflected in not only the curve of her double eyelid fold that is extended naturally from inside out, but also the astounding transformation from her initial round and short pair of eyes into a beautiful almond-shaped baby blues.

Before and After

Thanks to Dr Shens, the two sisters are now more confident and make up can now truly become a thing of yesterday after DST double eyelid surgery.

A mum-of-one has revealed how having her vagina laser tightened enhanced her sex life and made her “feel 18 again”.

Nicole Francis, 32, says the results of the vaginal laser procedure are worth every penny of the $1000 she paid to undergo the treatment.

Vaginoplasty, or also known as vaginal tightening or vaginal rejuvenation, is a procedure that “tightens up” that has become slack due to ageing or child birth.

This is especially so since Nicole has given birth to a son previously.

“When I had sex for the first time after I had it done, I genuinely felt like I was 18 again,” laughed the former model.

“Internally and externally, everything had shrunk back to how it used to be.

“It was really obvious how much of an improvement there was.”

Nicole is just one of a number of women in their twenties and thirties who are having their vaginas laser tightened at the same time as their faces.

The laser treatment offers the chance to banish saggy intimate areas with a technique normally used to get rid of wrinkles and other signs of ageing.

Instead of plumping up cheeks, the laser stimulates collagen production inside and outside of the vagina. It gives the women a sex life-boosting lift.

But despite this, she said she and many of her friends noticed a post-baby change in their love lives, with “things not as tight” as they used to be.

“It isn’t the sort of thing girls talk about all the time, but when you do it’s just part of life and most women feel the same,” she said.

“It’s something we can all relate to so it isn’t embarrassing at all.

“Especially if you’ve had a baby, or babies, you notice that things aren’t as tight as they used to be and that has an effect on how much you and your partner enjoy sex.

“Designer vaginas have been around for years but they mostly just tighten the outside and neaten it up a bit, and I’d be worried that could do more damage than good, whereas this concentrates on the inside.”

She insisted that the procedure is relatively easy and very bearable, and the results are worth it.

“They insert the laser, it fires light beams in a circular motion into the vaginal wall and then it’s slowly moved towards the outside.

“You feel some warmth but it’s not painful, maybe just a little bit uncomfortable, but not enough to outweigh the benefits.”

“So it’s no different really to having saggy loose skin on your face treated,” said Nicole. “Actually our faces don’t go through half as much trauma as that part of us, but everyone I know takes far more care of them.

“I think lots of women like me, in their 20s and 30s, have got into a regime of having their faces rejuvenated and procedures for firming up their bodies, but we can neglect that part of ourselves which obviously goes through quite a bit of wear and tear especially in childbirth.”

If you’re a massive K-pop fan, you’ll know AOA stands for Ace of Angels and not American Optometric Association.

AOA is a 7-member South Korean girl band under FNC Music. They are labelmates with CNBLUE, FT Island and Juniel.

The girls are so flexible that they can transform into an instrument playing band with 5 members and to a dancing group with 7 members.

Members include Seolhyun, Choa, Hyejeong, Chanmi, Yuna, Mina, Jimin, and Youkyung. They debuted with the single “Elvis” from their first single album “Angel’s Story”.

Being a member of a K-pop group means resigning your private and personal lives into the public sphere and the seven members of AOA have been subject to various rumours.

But the one rumour that unites them all is the rumour that all of them have undergone AOA plastic surgery.

If you’ve been following our blog, you’ll probably know by now that these rumours turn out to be true.

So what say you.  Are the girls real or is it all AOA plastic surgery?

Kim Chan Mi aka Chanmi Plastic Surgery Transformation

Let’s start with Kim Chan Mi, stage name Chanmi.

This Daegu native was a very active child, thus prompting her mom to send her to dancing school and ever since then their lives have changed when Chanmi auditioned to be part of the group.

Was it her looks that won her a spot or pure talent? Judging by her pre debut pictures, we don’t think Chanmi was much of a looker.

We’d peg it down to AOA plastic surgery, namely blepharoplasty. As pictured above, Chanmi’s childhood picture shows her with narrow Asian eyes, lacking the extra eyelid crease.

The after picture shows her with bigger, wider, double eyelid eyes that makeup can’t achieve to that extent. This AOA plastic surgery helped Chanmi go up the ladder in the looks department.

The “K-pop combo pack” is not a KFC chicken deal but something Koreans refer to as the nose and eyes plastic surgery that most Korean celebrities undergo when they become stars.

It is almost standard procedure, much like how one has to get a degree to get a job.

Plastic surgery is their ticket to this world and if they can get it why not? Chanmi is no different.

The star has reshaped her nose with rhinoplasty by increasing the nasal bridge and fine tuning the tip to resemble a Concord tip. The before and after is so blatantly obvious, you’d have to be blind to deny this surgery!

Park Cho Ah aka Choa Plastic Surgery Transformation

Next up in the AOA plastic surgery line up is Park Cho Ah, stage name Choa.

While Choa had dreams of becoming a singer since young, her conservative Asian parents were not very supportive  so the singer studied Aviation Business Administration instead.

Fate had other plans as one day she bumped into JUNIEL and she told Choa about the FNC audition for girl group AOA.

The rest as they say is history. We wonder if her parents still oppose her career, but more importantly, do they recognize their daughter?

For instance, there’s rumour of her getting double eyelid surgery. Based on the photos above, we think it’s more fact than fiction.

There she is posing for the camera in both pictures, the only difference is the extra crease in her eyelid. Her eyes were naturally big before and they seem to have remained in size horizontally.

She might have also gotten aegyo sal surgery judging by the tiny puffs of fat underneath her eyes which were absent in the before picture.

This AOA plastic surgery is very obvious but in a good way as it makes her look so much better than before.

Denial is the name of the game but there’s no denying this AOA plastic surgery nose job on Choa.

We prefer her nose in the after picture where it’s tall, slim and with a pointed, well defined tip unlike her previous nose where it lacked height and had no well-defined tip.

Your nasal cartilage might grow but certainly not to the extent of morphing into a different shape! This AOA plastic surgery is a 9 on the obvious scale.

Shin Hye Jeong aka Hyejeong Plastic Surgery Transformation

AOA plastic surgery debutante number 3 is none other than Shin Hye Jeong, stage name Hyejeong.

The singer is a self confessed shy kid so it’s a surprise that she chose this line of career when she debuted on the SBS drama “A Gentleman’s Dignity” prior to joining AOA.

Hyejeong like her fellow group members has definitely been subject to the AOA plastic surgery machine, but can we tell what she’s done?

Hyejeong already had big cute round eyes as a kid. The only thing that marred her pretty face was her nose.

So it’s only natural Hyejeong felt the need to get AOA plastic surgery for it. While the tip remains the same, the length and height of the bridge has been increases as well as slimmed down to give her a longer, narrower nose.

The overall outcome of this AOA plastic surgery gives her a well balanced facial profile.

What other AOA plastic surgery did Hyejeong get? We suspect she’s also had a chin impant. As show above, the celebrity had a short round chin that wasn’t harmonious with the size of the rest of her face.

In the after picture we see her with a longer, more pointed chin. Unlike V line surgery which improves only the frontal view, chin implants help improve the front and profile view as well, although the level of results depends on how big an implant is inserted inside.

This AOA plastic surgery, while only slight in appearance does make a difference to Hyejeong’s looks and we can only say it’s a difference for the better.

Shin Ji Min aka Jimin Plastic Surgery Transformation

In K-pop circles, there is constant speculation as to whether or not someone is a real beauty and the definition of “real” here is someone who’s not had any work done to their faces. Unfortunately this term can’t be applied to Shin Ji Min, stage name Jimin.

The talented rapper was interested in music from a young age and learned to play the guitar, harmonica and piano.

Jimin suffered from Carpal Tunnel syndrome and underwent surgery 3 years ago. That’s not the only surgery she’s had though.

Our AOA plastic surgery sources say she’s had other procedures done for more aesthetic purposes.

This AOA plastic surgery collage highlights her eyes. Jimin has really big eyes in the second picture where she has the much coveted double eyelids.

In the first picture her eyes are big, but not as big as it is in the second picture. Her eyes have also become horizontally longer which leads us to believe she’s had lateral canthoplasty coupled with blepharoplasty to fix her eyes.

These AOA plastic surgery procedures help increase length of the eyes as well as achieve that extra fold in the small flap of skin that covers your eyes, otherwise known as the eyelid.

We’ll say her new big eyes make her look extra cute and very much like a Manga drawing come to life.

While Jimin’s AOA plastic surgery on her eyes was a success, we think the outcome of AOA plastic surgery on her nose was less obvious.

The nose looks almost the same in both pictures, except that it’s slightly longer and higher in the after picture.

We think Jimin probably just had a silicon implant added in to increase nasal height and that’s about it as the tip looks the same.

This AOA plastic surgery would’ve been better if she had shaved down the alars as well. But oh well, it’s still a decent nose job done.

From the before and after pictures above, we can tell Jimin has had V line surgery. Her jaw used to be bulky and U shaped before, now it has tapered down nicely to form the ultimate V shape towards the end.

This surgery shaves down the mandible bone to give it a sleeker, more narrow look from the front and at 45 degree angles. This surgery adds length to Jimin’s face and makes it look narrower overall.

Kim Seol Hyun aka Seolhyun Plastic Surgery Transformation

Who’s next in our debunking of AOA plastic surgery rumours? Why it’s none other than Kim Seol Hyun of course. Seolhyun (as she is known to fans) is big on plastic surgery.

She admitted to getting braces done during her pre debut days. What other AOA plastic surgery has she done?

We’ll start with the less invasive ones first.

What non-invasive AOA plastic surgery procedure do you think Seolhyun got done here?

Well if you noticed the more defined jawline with less chubbiness, then you noticed right.

We think Seolhyun got Botox injections done to her masseter to reduce the size of her jaw muscles. In the first picture, she’s hardly smiling and yet her jaw looks wide and chubby with not much definition.

In the second picture, she’s smiling broadly but still manages to look slimmer thanks to this non-invasive AOA plastic surgery called Botox that helps slim the jawline without having to cut open the face.

We don’t think it’s jaw augmentation as her chubby face was more down to baby fat and enlarged masseter muscles than bone definition.

Maybe she’s born with it. Maybe it’s a silicone implant. We have reason to believe Seolhyun’s nose is anything but natural and all down to A0A plastic surgery as we compare the before and after pictures of her.

How else would her nose suddenly get taller and slimmer? We can also see the tip of her nose has been raised and is in better shape than it was previously.

What other AOA plastic surgery is Seoulhyun guilty of? Well if you’ve been a long time reader of PlastyTalk you’d be able to guess by now the next obvious procedure she’s had.

It’s none other than lateral canthoplasty. The one obvious thing in the collage above is how her eyes seem to stretch out horizontally in the after picture, thus making them look longer, wider and bigger.

Seolhyun also had a case of ptosis eyes, as observed in the before picture where her left eyelid drops over her iris more than the other one.

This has obviously been corrected through ptosis surgery where the levator muscle is tightened. Seolhyuns eyes are now big, wide and most certainly not droopy thanks to this AOA plastic surgery.

Seo Yu Na aka Yuna Plastic Surgery Transformation

Next up in the AOA plastic surgery is Seo Yu Na, aka Yuna.

From a young age, Yuna knew she wanted to become a singer and her dedication to this dream was proved when she went all the way to Seoul from Busan to practice singing and attend auditions.

Her hard work has paid off as Yuna is now a member of AOA. What else did she do while in Seoul and before her AOA days?

We think Yuna had some pre debut AOA plastic surgery done.

The first AOA plastic surgery she got done was to her eyes. This before and after montage clearly shows the procedure done: blepharoplasty.

Yuna had typically Asian eyes. Thankfully though her eyes weren’t mere slits and we can see her iris.

But Yuna obviously wanted to get bigger eyes and double eyelids (as pictured in the after picture) hence the AOA plastic surgery done to fix this.

Yuna also had her nose done if these before and after pictures are to be compares. Her nose has definitely become slimmer and taller at the bridge which works to balance out her features nicely.

We think Yuna had an implant inserted inside and also raised the columella, thus giving her a higher tip and more delicate looking nostrils.

This AOA plastic surgery has worked wonders for Yuna, who otherwise would have had to walk around with a flat ugly nose.

Kwon Min A aka Mina Plastic Surgery Transformation

Fellow Busan native Mina, real name Kwon Min A also harboured dreams of becoming a K-pop star.

Like Yuna, Mina also moved to Seoul to pursue a career in singing. Like Yuna, we also know Mina got AOA plastic surgery to further enhance her face and get to where she is today.

This AOA plastic surgery shows a before and after picture of Mina.

Mina had a short bridge and dorsum which was later lengthened to give her a longer slimmer nose.

The tip has been reshaped to give her a more concord end, although unfortunately, the thickness of the alar can’t be reduced, thus giving away the fact that she had AOA plastic surgery done.

Now that we’ve covered the seven AOA plastic surgery member by member, let’s now focus on their transformation as a group.

AOA plastic surgery has no doubt transformed these seven angels into the K-pop idols they are today.

This personal metamorphosis has taken them to unprecedented heights on the professional front.

This South Korean actress was in all over the Korean gossip tabloids back in 2014 for going out with fellow South Korean actor Kim Min Jong. Celebrities dating other celebrities? How is that shocking?

Well it was scandalous because apparently Kim Min Jong is 18 years older than Go Ara!! The rumour mill went into overdrive when the two were spotted out and about doing “couple” things in Seoul. The irony is not lost on their zealous fans.

The 33 year old dashing actor is well known for his role in Gentleman’s Dignity the hit Korean drama where he plays a character who falls in love and dates a very young girl.

Did Kim Min Jong take his role too seriously and decide to continue his character’s role in real life? The couple sure do keep a low profile and we’ve got our fingers crossed that they’ll go public soon. They make a cute couple no?

Go Ara’s love life aside, we’re here to discuss her stunning beauty and the secrets of the Go Ara plastic surgery procedures. It’s no secret this Jinju native got her start in the entertainment industry when she entered the SM Entertainment Teen Model Contest in junior high upon recommendation from a friend.

We’re glad she did because Go Ara went on to win the contest and eventually train under the same company in the area of acting, singing and dancing. Among the products she’s endorsed are SK Telecom, Elite Uniforms, and more recently, cosmetics.

Go was the youngest model for Etude House in 2006, and filmed the brand commercial with actor Jang Keun-suk in 2008. In 2011, Go and was chosen as the new muse of Lirikos.

Her acting chops are no less powerful as Go Ara was chosen to play the female lead, Lee Ok-rim in the 2003 KBS teen drama Sharp #1, acting alongside other big names like Lee Eun-sung, Kim Shi-hoo and Yoo Ah-in.

All this success was possible thanks to Goo Ara winning that one modelling contest based on her looks. So just how “original” are her looks? Or is it all down to Go Ara plastic surgery?

It’s true! Little miss supermodel had cauliflower ears when she was a kid and we have no doubt that she was teased mercilessly because of it.

Ear reshaping would have helped pin back her ears so that it doesn’t stick out by a mile, calling attention to it like a glowing ambulance siren. This plastic surgery procedures can be performed at any age, even on kids as young as 6, so it’s quite likely Go Ara might have got this Go Ara plastic surgery procedure done before her rise to fame.

We won’t call Go Ara to account for this plastic surgery as it’s perfectly understandable.  In the superficial and cut throat world of the entertainment industry, we doubt she’d be where she is today if she hadn’t done something about those Dumbo ears.

Go Ara Plastic Surgery Transformation – Eyes

Go Ara is one of those few East Asians blessed with beautiful hazel eyes. In fact, her trademark coloured eyes are usually what most people notice first, so any alterations made would be very obvious.  This Go Ara plastic surgery would be her double eyelids.

This surgery is the number one surgery in South Korea. This is no surprise considering most Asians don’t have the much sought after double eyelids. The before picture shows Go Ara with very obvious monolid eyes, and in the after picture, she’s suddenly grown an extra layer on top!

You can see how much more wide open and rounded her eyes are in the second picture compared to before. Where she was seriously lacking in the double eyelid department, she is now well endowed with that extra fold, eyelashes and all.

Her new big eyes make her look sweet and innocent and much younger than her 25 years, although if Korean fan forums are anything to go by, everyone seems to have preferred Go Ara’s eyes pre plastic surgery but we’re guessing blepharoplasty was a must have in the Go Ara plastic surgery transformation.

Go Ara Plastic Surgery Transformation – Nose

The third Go Ara plastic surgery is her nose. As we all know, most Asians don’t have a natural high nose bridge or a well-defined nasal tip.

While Go Ara’s nose isn’t too bad, we’d rate her original nose a 6 out of 10. Compare the before and after photos for yourself.

Same girl, different nose.  While this Go Ara plastic surgery rhinoplasty is not as blatantly obvious as her ear reshaping surgery, it is nonetheless still noticeable.

How can we tell? Well for starters, the tip of her nose has acquired more shape in the after picture and seems to have increased with height. She has probably had her surgeon shave off much of her nose bridge, resulting in a narrower frame, which gives her more space between her eyes than before.

Considering her nose has this unnaturally straight line throughout the length, we reckon she’s had a silicone or cartilage implant sitting in there. Overall, we’d give her new nose a 9 out of 10.

Of course, there will be the usual botox and fillers, but that’s a story for another time.
