Korea Celebrity Plastic Surgery Faceoff: Kim Hyuna vs Lee Hyori – Who did it better?

For those of you who are very well acquainted with the Korean entertainment world, we’re sure you’re no stranger to the almond-like eyes, impossibly sharp nose and dainty feline-shaped face that virtually every Korean celebrity seem to possess.

With those qualities set as a benchmark for beauty in Korea, it comes as no surprise that celebrities land up looking no different from their fellow celebrity counterparts.

So whose before after Korea plastic surgery is more superior to the other? Whose plastic surgeon is more adept and we should be eyeballing (more)?

Today, we’ll be exploring two of the hottest and sexiest divas in the Korean entertainment industry that share uncannily similar styles and (before after Korea plastic surgery) looks.

Celebrity plastic surgery - Lee Hyori vs Kim Hyuna (8)

Veteran pop star Lee Hyori and the younger but undeniably strong contender, Kim Hyuna, have both lent some help from top plastic surgeons to achieve that aesthetic perfection, validated by the Korean pop industry.

But amidst the plastic surgery craze, the resounding question surfaces, is Lee Hyori’s before after Korea plastic surgery transformation head and shoulders above Kim Hyuna’s or vice versa?

But first, read here for our previous features on Kim Hyuna plastic surgery and Lee Hyori plastic surgery.

That we’re not so sure (for now), but what we know is we’ll be having a whale of a time scrutinizing these ravishing beauties and we can’t wait to begin.

Celebrity plastic surgery - Lee Hyori vs Kim Hyuna (1)

Unfortunately (or fortunately), the sorcerous Korea plastic surgery, that has the potential to transform the ugliest of ducklings to the most beautiful of swans, was unable to work its full mojo on both Lee Hyori (left) and Kim Hyuna (right).

Judging from the younger pre-debut days of Lee Hyori and Kim Hyuna, it seems like these two were truly born to be stars.

While we can’t say the same for the rest of the K-pop clan, we guess it’s safe to say both Lee Hyori and Kim Hyuna have got pretty decent genes to begin with.

Although the true mastery of the eminent Korea plastic surgery was not put to the ultimate test, but we’re sure it has done quite its magic on these two ladies. And this is why.

Celebrity plastic surgery - Lee Hyori vs Kim Hyuna (2)

Celebrity plastic surgery - Lee Hyori vs Kim Hyuna (3)

Just look at how much Lee Hyori and Kim Hyuna have evolved over the years! It must have been tricky juggling between getting procedures done and being a smashing pop star.

But as they say, no pain, no gain, and boy, gain the ladies did. It certainly looks like those sacrifices have paid off (very well), making both Lee Hyori and Kim Hyuna emblems of aesthetic perfection in the critical eye of the k-pop industry.

So back to our question. Whose before after Korea plastic surgery trumps over the other?

Is it Lee Hyori or her doppelganger, Kim Hyuna?

For a fair assessment, let’s dissect their features one by one and put them under the microscope.

Celebrity Faceoff – Lee Hyori vs Kim Hyuna: Eyes

They say diamonds are a girl’s best friend, we say the eyes have to be a girl’s best feature.

This is especially so in Korea since the nation practically goes bananas over anything eyes – double eyelid surgery, lateral canthoplasty and epicanthoplasty.

Celebrity plastic surgery - Lee Hyori vs Kim Hyuna (4)

And because it’s a rule of thumb to have a set of large, almond-like eyes (with relatively pronounced double eyelids, of course), both Lee Hyori and Kim Hyuna have taken pains to get them just right and we must say, it’s two blepharoplasties well done.

Clearly, double eyelid surgery is top on both Lee Hyori and Kim Hyuna’s korea plastic surgery list but just who did it better?

Looking at Lee Hyori, we see she’s got that magical glint in her eyes.

Fierce, intense and spirited are probably some words we can use to describe this post Lee Hyori blepharoplasty.

They call her the cattiest celebrity in the K-pop industry and she’s sure to live up to that label with those dangerous looking eyes (and feisty personality).

And then there was Kim Hyuna. Looking at the picture, we see that Kim Hyuna has quite a different set of baby blues.

While still maintaining the longish almond shaped eye, we see that her eyes are somewhat larger and have a tear drop effect.

Unlike her Unni, Kim Hyuna has adopted a set of more doe-like eyes, giving her overall facade a more gentle touch.

Comparing both Lee Hyori and Kim Hyuna’s eyes, we’ve got to say, Kim Hyuna has definitely scored on that alluring set of baby blues.

It’s sweet and spicy and everything nice. Looks like we now know who to pay a visit should we have any disgruntlement with our baby blues.

And so, for now, the score stands at

Kim Hyuna – 1    Lee Hyori – 0

But is it a clear win for Kim Hyuna? Stay tuned to find out more.

Celebrity Faceoff – Lee Hyori vs Kim Hyuna: Nose

Next up, nose! No shocker on this. It sure seems like blepharoplasty goes hand in hand with rhinoplasty when celebrities embark on their Korea plastic surgery journey.

Celebrity plastic surgery - Lee Hyori vs Kim Hyuna (5)

It would almost be unbecoming of a celebrity had she not fixed her nose after a successful blepharoplasty.  After all, you can’t say you’ve undergone the authentic Korea plastic surgery experience if you’ve not received this combination.

So whose nose is more on point? Let’s see.

It’s one thing to get a nose job, but to get one that doesn’t scream ‘hey rhinoplasty here!’ is a whole other thing.

A sign of a good rhinoplasty done is one that leaves the audience debating if a nose job was even done to begin with.

While it is common for many celebrities to get their nose fixed, it is unfortunate that countless post rhinoplasty noses leave fans spotting glaringly protruding silicon implants or terribly emaciated alars and let’s face it, celebrities are definitely more than appreciative to not have to deal with yet another gossip about them.

Celebrity plastic surgery - Lee Hyori vs Kim Hyuna (6)

Looking at Lee Hyori’s nose (left), we see a beautifully sculpted nose with that subtle but exquisite ski jump nose tip.

While her nose has evidently gone under the knife from pre debut pictures, fortunately, her nose doesn’t look too contrived or overly done and nestles perfectly on her face.

Kudos to Lee Hyori’s plastic surgeon who did a superb job on the idol’s nose and while we wish we could pay the same compliments to Kim Hyuna’s plastic surgeon, alas.

Judging from Kim Hyuna’s nose, we reckon that the overly zealous plastic surgeon could possibly have been too fixated on crafting the perfect nose, it came out way too over the top.

Prominent silicon implant + Almost negligible alar = Blatant rhinoplasty = Fail

What can we say other than try harder (or perhaps not too hard) the next time.

With Lee Hyori’s rhinoplasty triumphing over Kim Hyuna’s, Lee Hyori scores one, bringing the score to

Lee Hyori – 1  Kim Hyuna – 1

The competition is now neck in neck! With their scores tied, we can’t wait to judge the next procedure to see who emerges victorious in this Korea plastic surgery battle.

And then we have it, the deciding factor of this fierce Korea plastic surgery battle. The face shape.

Celebrity Faceoff – Lee Hyori vs Kim Hyuna: Face Shape

When it comes to the face, it goes without saying that a sharp and slim one is almost always more appealing than a broad and round one. Don’t think so?

Here’s a comparison between Lee Hyori and Kim Hyuna and it sure looks like it has proven the aforementioned.

Celebrity plastic surgery - Lee Hyori vs Kim Hyuna (7)

Looking at Lee Hyori’s facial contours, it’s evident that the celebrity has successfully achieved that highly sought after V shaped face.

Narrowing the sides of her jaws has brought Lee Hyori’s façade to a whole other level, granting her a sleeker and sharper finish.

Surely we can’t deny that Lee Hyori looks ravishing in her newly bought facial contour.

Now, things aren’t quite the same when it comes to her little twin, Kim Hyuna.

Unlike Lee Hyori, Kim Hyuna did not quite achieve that ‘Perfect V’ for her pretty face.

With a broader face and a rounder chin, Kim Hyuna doesn’t look quite as polished as Lee Hyori in the facial contour department.

Pretty as she is, it seems like her Unni has won her hands down in this round, bringing the final score to

Lee Hyori – 2 Kim Hyuna – 1

Celebrity plastic surgery - Lee Hyori vs Kim Hyuna (8)

And so, we have it, the victor of this grueling Korea plastic surgery battle is non other than the Queen of K-pop herself, Lee Hyori.

Though Lee Hyori has emerged victorious (by a slight margin), we all can’t deny the oozing sex appeal both celebrities possess.

Overall it was battle well fought and if there’s one thing we learnt, it’s that we should never doubt the competence of the highly acclaimed Korea plastic surgery.

7 Things you should know about Gynecomastia (Man Boobs)

$

Man boobs aka gynecomastia may seem like a joke to many. However, for the 3 in 10 men who suffer from this condition, the term man boobs hits too close to home.

Truth is, gynecomastia isn’t merely an aesthetic issue that is a deterrent to that firm and a chiselled body that every man dreams of, but instead, may be an indication of serious underlying health issues.

So, for a condition with such serious undertone, gynecomastia may not be something to be joked about.

Yet, little light has been shed on the facts behind gynecomastia, and it is high time we cleared the cloud of myths surrounding this condition.

Just what are the causes behind gynecomastia?

How can we rid ourselves of this dreadful condition? Is gynecomastia a condition that is curable? The truth versus the myth. Today, we tell it all.

Gynecomastia Myth #1: Excess Fat Is The Culprit Behind Gynecomastia

One common myth that surrounds gynecomastia is that only very overweight men are inflicted by this condition.

It is true to a certain extent that excess fat can indeed make a man’s breasts more significant, however, fat alone isn’t the cause of the condition.

Gynecomastia is more than just a result of developing fat in the chest region, but rather a development of breast tissue in the chest area.

Fact: Hormones Play A Significant Part

One of the main culprits behind gynecomastia is the imbalance of hormones.

With testosterone levels in a man’s decreases and an increase in estrogen levels, a man is more likely to develop breast tissue.

It is with the increasing development of breast tissue that ultimately causes the condition of gynecomastia.

Gynecomastia Myth #2: Gynecomastia Is Not Caused By An External Factors

Many assume that gynecomastia is caused by genetics or an unhealthy diet.

However, there are several external factors that many are unaware of, that can encourage the development of this aesthetic condition.

Fact: With the myriad of negative consequences that alcohol consumption brings about, alcohol is unsurprisingly connected with gynecomastia, and many may not be aware of this.

More than just alcohol, some medications also contribute to gynecomastia such as medications for enlarged prostate, antibiotics, antidepressants, and heart conditions.

Also, men who have endocrine problems are likewise susceptible to the gynecomastia condition in men as it can result in the development of breast tissue.

Gynecomastia  Myth #3: Steroids Can Help To Eliminate Gynecomastia

We all know that increased levels of estrogen in men is one of the leading causes of the gynecomastia.

So what better way to counter the growing female hormone than to pile on more male hormones to cancel out estrogen?

With steroids containing high levels of testosterone, it only makes sense to reach out for steroids to combat this hormonal imbalance situation.

All these are logical right? Wrong!

Fact: In fact, the misuse of steroid is one of the main triggers for male breast enlargement.

This is because, each time you stop taking steroids, your body experiences a fluctuation in your testosterone levels and ultimately contributes to a temporary increase in your estrogen levels.

It is in such circumstances that ultimately results in the development of fat in the chest area.

Thus, taking steroids has a reverse effect on breast reduction, exacerbating the condition of gynecomastia.

Gynecomastia Myth #4: Exercise Can Make The Breasts Go Away

Many assume that increasing the amount of exercise or performing certain types of exercises that focuses on the toning of the chest area will help to resolve the gynecomastia condition.

However, that just is not the case.

As gynecomastia is the development of breast tissue and not just fat, there is no way to burn off the extra tissue through exercise.

Even if the enlarged breasts were only made up of fats, exercise is still not the only means to resolve gynecomastia as performing a series of exercises and expecting to see a significant reduction in fat in one part of the body only is impossible.

Fact: Surgery is actually one of the best options when it comes to solving gynecomastia.

In situations where hormonal imbalance conditions cannot be resolved with medication, gynecomastia surgery is the best bet to remove the enlarged man breasts.

A gynecomastia surgery tweaks according to the differing conditions.

A man with limited breast tissue but a substantial amount of extra fat in the chest area is a patient who will most likely benefit from liposuction.

However, should the patient have more breast tissue than fat, liposuction is first performed to remove the fat, followed by the cutting away of the breast tissue, through an incision made near the armpit or nipple.

For the most severe cases of gynecomastia, a combination of liposuction, removal of the breast tissue as well as a breast lift is done to remove any excess, loose skin, giving the chest a tighter and masculine appearance.

Gynecomastia Myth #5: Gynecomastia Will Come Back Again

Many are afraid that the gynecomastia condition will come back to haunt them again after their surgery and are thus unwilling to fix the condition with surgery.

However, that cannot be further from the truth.

Fact: In truth, once a gynecomastia surgery is performed, the enlarged breasts will be taken care of permanently.

A gynecomastia procedure ensures that this condition is fixed forever.

Although there may be still slight chances of a recurrence in very few people, these conditions are anomalies as the breast tissue is removed during a gynecomastia surgery, thereby solving the root of the problem.

Gynecomastia  Myth #6 – Gynecomastia Is A Condition That Is Difficult To Treat

Many think that gynecomastia requires a tricky procedure and thus do not view it as a condition that can be gotten rid of.

Furthermore, there are also individuals who aren’t aware that there are procedures that can treat this condition.

As such, many who suffer from gynecomastia live with the condition in silence and have their self-confident plummet.

Fact: Truth is, gynecomastia is a condition that you truly don’t have to endure a lifetime.

Contrary to popular belief, gynecomastia is actually a very treatable condition, and it typically produces excellent results.

Should lifestyle, diet or medical changes not be able to resolve your condition, there is still an option on the table – gynecomastia surgery aka male breast reduction surgery.

In fact, gynecomastia surgery is one of the most effective ways to successfully eradicate the male breast condition as excess breast tissues are removed during this procedure, instantly giving you the flat and taut appearance of the chest.

Gynecomastia  Myth #7 – Any Doctor Can Perform A Gynecomastia Surgery

Many assume that with gynecomastia being a very treatable condition, that a gynecomastia surgery is a procedure that any doctor can perform.

As such, many have made the terrible decision of appointing any doctor without prior research.

Fact: Like all procedures, it is imperative that you do your research before choosing the doctor of your choice for gynecomastia surgery.

A gynecomastia surgery requires a doctor who is not only adept in this area but is also able to give you the best advice from years of experience.

It is also essential to choose a doctor who shares your vision so as for you to achieve the chest that you have always wanted.

Doctor Spotlight: Aesthetic Doctor Dr Ivan Puah

In this Doctor’s spotlight series, Dr Ivan Puah shares why despite his training in multiple medical disciplines, he chose to focus on aesthetic medicine and how his passion lies in helping people overcome their insecurities.

Attaining a Graduate Diploma in Family Dermatology from the University of Singapore and a Diploma in Acupuncture from Singapore College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Dr Ivan Puah is one of the rare aesthetics doctors who uses his vast knowledge on both Western and traditional medicine to tap on the best of both worlds when it comes to aesthetics.

An ASEAN scholar, he graduated from M.B.B.S, National University Of Singapore, in 1997 and proceeded to undergo surgical and medical postings in various disciplines – General Surgery, Orthopaedic Surgery, Accident & Emergency, Neonatology, Urology, Dermatology, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Psychiatry and Family Medicine.

Yet his passion always lies in aesthetic medicine.

Dr. Ivan Puah’s zest for body sculpting, gynecomastia surgery and weight management eventually led him to found Amaris B. Clinic, an aesthetic and cosmetic clinic, in 2004.

Believing that he can take aesthetics medicine to greater heights, he engaged in various body sculpting trainings throughout the world such as Laser Lipolysis in Milan, VASER® Body sculpting in Denver and VASER® Hi-Definition Advanced Body Sculpting in Argentina.

He went on to be trained under French plastic surgeon, Dr. Pierre Francois Fournier for liposculpture, fat grafting and thread lift.

Excelling in trainings and having thoroughly honed the skills he had acquired, Dr. Ivan Puah was one of the handful of doctors to introduce Smartlipo and VASER® to benefit patients; a prestigious validation, as only the doctors who have met the stringent criteria set by the Ministry of Health can be accredited to perform liposuction in Singapore.

As a Vaser Certified Physician, Dr. Ivan Puah is often invited to speak and share his knowledge with his peers at conferences and seminars.

His attentive ears and eye for details cement his reputation as a consummate professional.

Each advice and recommendation given is personalised to the specific individual which not only means that the aesthetic goals will be met, but also that their well-being is assured.

Dr. Ivan Puah has also been recently appointed as the Official Trainer for BOTOX® and dermal filler from Allergan Singapore and Merz Singapore.

A skilled aesthetics doctor who seeks nothing less than perfection, Dr. Ivan Puah’s fervour for perfecting his craft is fuelled by a quote from Aristotle – “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” An adage he firmly stands by hitherto.

We spoke to Dr. Ivan Puah to learn more about his journey and motivation behind his career as an aesthetics doctor.

1. Why an aesthetics doctor for a career?

To be able to practise aesthetic medicine is incredibly rewarding.

Patients who turn to aesthetic medicine are looking for personal fulfilment, beyond good health. It allows people to look as young as they feel, to enhance what genetics has bestowed.

2. What do you believe is important as an aesthetics doctor?

In my personal opinion, aesthetic medicine is not about vanity, unless it is practised in vain.

I hold on dearly to this quote by Don Galer, “Integrity is what we do, what we say and what we say we do.” This adage has not changed for me since the day I graduated from medical school.

3. Why the decision to specialise in Lipo focused on surgical body contouring such as liposuction and gynecomastia?

People are constantly looking for ways to lose weight, improve their body shapes and to lead a healthier lifestyle.

However, more often than not, many people are confused by the vast array of over promised but under delivered services.

When Amaris B. Clinic was set up in 2004, the objective was to provide medically-proven, quality and improved minimally invasive surgical treatments to meet the demand.

4. How does Amaris B Clinic differ from other aesthetics practices?

What differentiates Amaris B Clinic from other aesthetic practices is: “Know what your customer wants and what your company does best, focus on where those two meet.”

Our practice offers a comprehensive range of body sculpting and enhancement services since we started in 2004 and we keep improving on the surgical technique, and this USP of ours is non-replicable as the results depend on the doctor’s eyes, skills and approach.

5. Why Dr Ivan Puah for aesthetics enhancement and body sculpting service over others?

When carrying out body sculpting, it is not just about fat removal.

It requires the doctor with relevant experience and an eye for beauty to sculpt and contour the body liken to a sculptor creating a piece of beautiful art piece.

I am also one of the few aesthetic doctors who is accredited by MOH to perform liposuction.

6. Was there a particular procedure that left a lasting impression. If so what was it and why?

Every patient who wants to proceed with a cosmetic enhancement surgery has his or her own story or motivation.

I had a male patient, who was extremely shy and has a lack of self-confidence as he was disturbed by his overly enlarged male breasts for years.

He wore baggy clothes to hide it.

Eventually, we carried out a gynecomastia surgery on him.

I remembered in the last review, he came into the clinic with a cake in his hand and a big smile on his face to thank us for solving his problem.

Subsequently, he even went on to train for a bodybuilding competition. I am in awe of his determination!

Dr Ivan Puah exhibits brilliance in his craft as an aesthetics doctor. His passion for aesthetics medicine has helped many, who struggle with their insecurities, and his continual pursuit for perfection in his artistry, makes him one of the most sought after aesthetics doctors in body contouring procedures in all of Singapore.

Singapore Blogger treated her Acne with TripleCombo of Agnes Treatment, Q Switch Laser & HydraFacial

Having had her occasion battles with acne due to her oily and acne prone skin, RiSeon, like the millions of others who fall victim to acne, wasn’t unfamiliar with the woes that acne brings about.

However, due to the sensitive nature of her skin, RiSeon soon realised that her skin was susceptible to scars and decided to turn to a skincare line in hopes of eliminating the unsightly scars – a move, RiSeon would soon learn to regret.

It did not take long for RiSeon’s skin to turn on her, leaving her with a face full of angry acne.

Breaking out 5-8 time in a week, RiSeon’s was left with a serious case of acne and even after her decision to stop the use of the skincare proved to be too little too late.

The damage that the skin care has caused was enough to send RiSeon into a depression.

Noticing that her condition wasn’t getting any better, RiSeon knew she had to consult a specialist to have her acne treated and after much diligent research, RiSeaon found her miracle at The Clifford Clinic.

During her first consultation with Dr Gerard Ee, RiSeon was thoroughly grateful for Dr Gerard Ee’s patience as she talked him through her devastating experience with her acne.

After a thorough understanding of her acne history, Dr Gerard Ee meticulously explained her condition and provided solutions to combat RiSeon’s acne condition, giving RiSeon the assurance that she very much needed.

After a thorough assessment of her skin condition Dr Gerard Ee concocted a treatment for RiSeon to tackle her acne condition which consisted of a combination of Agnes treatment, Q-Switch Laser treatment as well as HydraFacial to maintain her cleanliness of her skin.

What is Agnes treatment?

“One of the latest advancements in acne treatment is AGNES, which selectively ablates sebaceous glands to cure recalcitrant acne.

AGNES is commonly used in Korea and Dr Gerard Ee is the pioneer doctor to introduce AGNES to Singapore.”

Containing millions of sebum glands, ‘problematic glands’ are the very cause of acne condition. With the use of Agnes treatment, it selectively destroys those individual ‘problematic’ glands which results in the prevention of new breakout thereby making it a long term cure for acne.

As for RiSeon’s acne case, Dr Gerard Ee had recommended her 1-2 Agnes and to use the pimple cream prescribed by him (Clindamycin, TRetinon cream and several others to keep my acne under control) in addition to the Agnes treatment.

RiSeon’s Agnes Treatment Journey

On RiSeon’s first Agnes treatment session, her face was first numbed with a numbing cream for approximately 30 minutes before the commencement of her extraction.

As RiSeon’s acne was considerably serious, her extraction was a lengthy process as much blackhead had to be extracted before the treatment.

After RiSeon’s face was thoroughly cleansed, she started on her Agnes acne treatment.

According to RiSeon, Dr Gerard Ee was extremely caring, making sure that the pain was tolerable to RiSeon, during the entire procedure.

As RiSeon had a low threshold for pain, Dr Gerard Ee decided to inject her with anaesthetic on both sides of her cheeks before continuing her treatment.

As Dr Gerard Ee is exceedingly meticulous, the entire procedure took almost an hour as Dr Ee is adamant on ensuring that he targets every infected pore.

Post Agnes Treatment Day 2

After the Agnes treatment, RiSeon noticed that her face was much redder than the before and she was genuinely concerned about her recovery. However, it was all thanks to Dr Gerard Ee’s constant assuance that got RiSeon through the toughest part of recovery – a bright red face of pimples.

RiSeon returned to The Cifford Clinic the next day for her follow up Agnes treatment. During the post Agnes treatment, RiSeon’s skin was in for a treat as it aims to soothe her skin from the Agnes treatment the day before.

A radio frequency machine was used with gel and antiseptic solution to cleanse my skin.

Although having a low tolerance to pain, RiSeon felt that the entire procedure was relatively comfortable with the exception of the few problematic areas that were more serious.

It did not take long before RiSeon saw the effects of the Agnes treatment.

By the 2nd day of post Agnes treatment, RiSeon was pleasantly surprised and thoroughly pleased that there was significant improvement to her acne condition.

RiSeon’s noticed that her cheeks were not as red and swollen as before and her raised pimples were by then, all flattened.

And by the 5th day after her Agnes treatment, RiSeon’s was thrilled to see even more improvement, aside from the red scars from the acne itself, the red patches surrounding the acne were completely gone.

Now that RiSeon’s acne condition has significantly improved, RiSeon was ready for the 2nd part of her treatment, Q-Switch Laser.

What is Q-Switch laser?

Q-switch laser is the ideal lunchtime laser for common pigmentation and aging problems.  Melasma, freckles and acne scars are common types of hyperpigmentation that can occur even with good lifestyle and skincare habits.

Q-switch laser has been proven to erase hyperpigmentation with low downtime.”

How does Q-switched laser treatment work?

“Q-Switch Laser treatment works by generating a high-energy laser on the affected area. The laser energy pulse breaks down the pigments into mini-pigments, which is absorbed by the skin, and then destroyed by the body’s lymphatic system.”

In RiSeon’s case, Dr Gerard had advised her to opt for a series of 10 Q-Switch lasers package, with her having to do this treatment every 2 weeks. This is ultimately to hep with her acne scars. As RiSeon detested her scars, she quickly took up the Q-Switch laser package with Dr Gerard Ee.

RiSeon’s Q-Switch Laser Treatment Journey

1 week later after her Agnes treatment, RiSeon started on her very first Q-Switch laser treatment. According to RiSeon, she was not quite used to the rubber-band snapping like effect on her skin during the procedure initially, but soon got used to it and rated the procedure 3/10 on the pain scale.

According to RiSeon, she is extremely pleased with the results delivered by Q-Switch Laser treatment.

Able to see fast and effective results after each session, RiSeon saw significantly improvement to her skin condition after each Q-Switch Laser treatment.

After the Q-Switch Laser treatment, RiSeon was given the Blue Light treatment.

The Blue Light treatment is tremendously helpful in the recovery process as it uses high-intensity, narrow-band blue light to treat mild to moderate acne.

It’s used to treat the acne-causing bacteria that can form within the sebaceous glands and cause break outs.

Upon applying a soothing mask (Omega/Centella extract), The blue-light generating device was placed over RiSeon’s head for approximately 10-15, allowing the light to target the bacteria that causes acne.

After which, a mask was placed over her face before continuing with the treatment.

To RiSeon, this treatment is quick and comfortable.

Post Q-Switch Laser treatment recovery

During the post Q-Switch Laser treatment recovery period, RiSeon noticed that there were some breakout along the way and when she expressed her concerns to Dr Gerard Ee, she was assured that occasional breakout along journey of the healing process is not uncommon and that with patience, the acne condition will further improve.

Upon observing her breakouts, RiSeon realised that even with the occasional breakouts, they were unlike the severe breakouts she had prior to her Agnes treatment.

Along with RiSeon’s Q-Switch Laser treatment, she was ready for the 3rd and final step of the treatment, which is the HydraFacial treatment.

What is HydraFacial?

HydraFacial uses patented technology to cleanse, extract, and hydrate our skin.

While getting rid of impurities it also uses super serums that are made with nourishing ingredients to quench skin and creating an instantly gratifying glow.

How does HydraFacial work?

CLEANSE + PEEL

Uncover a new layer of skin with gentle exfoliation and relaxing resurfacing.

EXTRACT + HYDRATE

Remove debris from pores with painless suction. Nourish with intense moisturizers that quench skin.

FUSE + PROTECT

Saturate the skin’s surface with antioxidants and peptides to maximize your glow

HydraFacial does much wonders for the skin as it’s able to address almost all the skin concerns we face at every stage of our lives.

  •       Fine lines + Wrinkles
  •       Elasticity + Firmness
  •       Even Tone + Vibrancy
  •       Skin Texture
  •       Brown Spots
  •       Oily + Congested Skin
  •       Enlarged Pores

RiSeon’s HydraFacial treatment Journey

RiSeon embarked on her HydraFaical treatment after her 2nd Q-Switch Laser treatment.

After a thorough cleansing and extraction, RiSeon’s face was thoroughly hydrated and prepped for the HydraFaical treatment.

During the HydraFaical treatment, a cold mask is used to relax and cool down RiSeon’s skin.

Throughout each session of Hydra-Facial, RiSeon’s congested and oily skin is sure to be thoroughly cleansed while her face was introduced to the benefits of anti-oxidant hydration.

RiSeon’s Post Acne treatment Journey from The Clifford Clinic

(2nd Q-Switch Laser + 1st HydraFacial)

RiSeon noticed that the bumps were a lot lesser than before and the amount of redness have reduced significantly too.

(3rd Q-Switch)

RiSeon was terribly pleased with the improvement reflected on her face.

(5th Q-Switch)

(6th Q-Swtich and 3rd HydraFacial)

(7th-Q-Switch)

RiSeon notices that her initial scars were lightening significantly and could not be happier with the Q-Switch results.

(8th Q-Switch and 4th HydraFacial)

RiSeon’s skin has indeed come a long way and has undoubtedly shown drastic improvement since they day she first stepped into The Clifford Clinic with her first consultation with Dr Gerard Ee.

Her journey had been an arduous and emotional one, but it is with much patience and under the guidance of a skilled and proficient aesthetics doctor, that RiSeon is able to finally be at one with her skin.

No one should ever be victimised by Acne. A long term cure is just a call away. Talk to Dr Gerard Ee from The Clifford Clinic today and never have to be burdened by your acne woes again.

Double eyelid surgery in Singapore, or known as blepharoplasty surgery, is the creation of a double eyelid fold.

This procedure will create an eyelid crease in an individual who does not have a crease (single eyelid), or has an indistinct crease.

This surgery is suitable for patients with monolids, or those with hidden double eyelids.

This is by far one of the most common procedures in Singapore, as double eyelid surgery will accentuate the features of the eyes, which is one of the most prominent parts of the face.

Many Asians want to have this additional crease, which will give the impression of a larger eyelid opening.

For ladies, this will help in putting on make up as well, in addition to making them look more desirable.

In this article, we will discuss the very popular questions from Singaporeans on this procedure, including:

  • Why Singaporean men and women need to undergo double eyelid surgery
  • Types of eyelid that Singaporean men and women have
  • Surgery types for double eyelid surgery
  • Height and type of crease
  • Price of double eyelid surgery in Singapore
  • Can I get double eyelid without undergoing surgery?
  • Reviews of patients who have undergone double eyelid surgery in Singapore

What are the types of eyelids that Singaporean men and women have?

Depending on the genetics passed down from our ancestors, different people have different type of eyelids.

Here are 8 types of common eyelids:

a. Single eyelid

b. Double eyelid

c. Non-continuous crease

d. Partial crease

e. Multiple eyelid creases

f. Double eyelid of nasally-tapered crease and widening on the outer side

g. Double eyelid with parallel crease

h. Typical Caucasian eyelid crease

The most common for Singaporean men and women are that of the single eyelid, and the hidden double eyelid.

For many people, the height of the eyelid crease changes depending on the time of the day, and oftentimes changes with the physical condition of the body, such as when one is extremely tired.

What are the most common types of Double eyelid surgery in Singapore?

There are 3 types of double eyelid surgeries:

  1. Full Incision Method (cutting)
  2. Partial Incision Method
  3. Non Incision Method (Non-invasive)

Your doctor will recommend you the most suitable surgery depending on your needs, preference and comfort level.

Non incision methods will only have tiny incisions from the suture and hence less scarring.  Patients with less fatty eyelids and who want lower folds are more suitable.

Incisional methods are typically more definitive.  Through the longer incision, fat can be removed, muscles can be tightened to enlarge the eye aperture and anchorage of the double eyelid is more secure throughout the length.  Although the scar is longer, if performed well it heals to look like a natural double eyelid skin crease.

Partial incisional methods shorten the incision and hence the scar.  As the access is shorter, control and anchorage of the double eyelid crease at the inner and outer aspects is compromised.  This may result in shallow folds at the inner and outer aspects.

  1. Full incision method (cutting)

This is the most common type of eyelid surgery in Singapore, and is lauded for being able to create the most natural look.

In this method, excessive fat, muscle and skin are removed simultaneously from the eyelid through incisions.

While this is the most common form of surgery and can bring about the best result, it must be done by a skilled plastic surgeon to prevent the need for enhancements later on.

The full incision method is suitable for people who:

  • Possess thick eyelid
  • Have droopy eyelid or eyelashes that is constantly touching the eye

Best Candidate for Full Incision Method

This method will create the most natural look in the long term, but the downside of this method is the longer time taken to heal (approximately 2 – 4 weeks of swelling).

Younger patients in their 20s and 30s will benefit most from the full incision eyelid surgery because this method will have the double eyelid looking natural over time.

  1. Partial Incision method

The partial incision method is an alternative to the full incision and the non invasive method of eyelid surgery.

This method involves making a tiny incision and removing excess fat and tissues.

The result is a will leave minimum scarring and swelling.

The double eyelid lines will extend up to the last third of the eyes, as opposed to the full incision method where the lines go beyond the last third of their eyes.

The partial incision method is suitable for people who:

  • With excessive fat on their eyes
  • Droopy eyes with thin eyelid skin
  • Those undergoing resurgery after non incision surgery
  • Want to remove fat and muscle tissue from their eyes
  • Want good results with only minimal swelling and scarring

Best Candidate for Partial Incision Method

The partial incision method is suitable for people with thin eyelids and also who desire a short recovery time. It would work best for people with droopy looking eyes and thin monolids.

  1. Non incision method (non-invasive)

This method is a non-invasive method that involves using minute openings made in the eyelid to create the fold, where there are various loops that can be used to tie the knots. One additional benefit of this surgery is that it is possible to revert the eyelid back to the original state.

The non incision method is suitable for people who:

  • Have eyelids that are not excessively thick or droopy
  • Want little to no scarring and swelling

Best Candidate for Non incision method (non-invasive)

This procedure works well for people who have hidden double eyelid and/or thin eyelid skin condition. This means depending on the condition, you may have natural double eyelid from time to time. For these candidates, the non-invasive method would be a good option.

What other procedures are done at the same time as double eyelid surgery?

Patients will sometimes undergo double eyelid surgery, epicanthoplasty and lateral canthoplasy at the same time.

Blepharoplasty is for double eyelid creation, while epicanthoplasty and lateral canthoplasty is to make the eyes look bigger.

Epicanthoplasty (inner eyelid surgery) is a very popular procedure for clients who want to eliminate the Mongolian fold, which is prevalent among asians.

Epicanthoplasty is to increase the horizontal length of the eyes for the inner eyelids, while a lateral canthoplasty procedure is to increase the length of the outer eyelids.

What height and type of crease should I get for my double eyelid surgery?

Crease Height

This refers to how high or low the crease will be from the top of the eye lash when the eye is closed measured in millimeters. Low crease usually measures 6 to 7 mm, while a medium crease is 7 to 8 mm, and a high crease is 9 – 10 mm.

Crease Shape

There are two main crease shape for double eyelid surgery, one being tapered crease while the other is parallel crease. Depending on the face of the patient, one may be more suitable over the other.

tapered crease
parallel crease

There is also the degree of tapering for tapered crease, depending on the needs and desires of the patient. As for parallel crease, it is equal height from the inner and outer corners of the eye, and similarly there is also the different height of the crease.

What is the recovery time for double eyelid surgery?

For the three methods, this is the recovery time needed:

  1. Full incision method – 2 to 4 weeks of swelling, 3 to 10 months to start looking natural
  2. Partial incision method – 1 to 3 weeks of recovery, 2 to 4 months to start looking natural
  3. Non incision Method (non-invasive) – 3 to 12 days to recover from the stitching

How to ensure proper recovery after double eyelid surgery?

Depending on the method of surgery, recovery takes anywhere from 3 days up to 10 months as seen from the segment above.

In the days after the surgery, there would be swelling, so cold compresses will help to reduce the swelling.

Ensure that you take the anti swelling medication that your doctor prescribes to you.

You can also use eye drops to prevent the eyes from drying.

During recovery, it is also important to avoid any activities which might affect the eyes. Any activity that increase blood flow to the eyes should be avoided, and this includes sporting activities, lifting, crying and also bending down.

Try to also keep the head elevated in an upright position as much as possible so as to minimise bruising.

What is the price of double eyelid surgery in Singapore?

The final price depends on the doctor and clinic. In general, here is the approximate pricing for double eyelid surgery in Singapore, which includes surgeon fee, reviews, consultation, anesthesia and also GST:

The price for full incision (cutting) method is between $3600 – $5200.

The price for partial incision method is $3200 – $4500.

The price for Non incision method (non-invasive) is $2800 – $4000.

Can I get double eyelid without undergoing surgery?

The good news is, yes, you are able to get double eyelid without undergoing surgery.

  1. Double eyelid sticker/tape

Double eyelid tape or double eyelid sticker would be a good option. There are many types to choose from, clear, double sided or perforated, and they come in many shapes and sizes depending on your eye. They are also inexpensive and can be easily found in beauty shops.

However, the downside is the tape or sticker might come off easily, and you have to apply it ever time you go out of the house.

  1. Double eyelid Glue

This is an alternative to the sticker, is more comfortable and would be more subtle in terms of appearance. It is however harder to apply and needs lot of practise to get it right.

  1. Make up

Another method is by make up, where if you draw a black line across your eyelid, it would mimic the shadow a double eyelid crease would create.

  1. False eyelashes

While this will not create a double eyelid per se, it creates the impression of a double eyelid because of the fold above the false eyelashes. This just involves the strategic placing of the false eyelash, and will come easily with practise.

What happens during double eyelid surgery?

On the day of your surgery, proceed to the operating theater relaxed and be ready for a new look.

  1. Markings and measurements

Before entering the operating room, your Doctor will make markings for the exact double eyelid you want. You will check to see if that is how you would like it to be before proceeding for the procedure.

  1. Sedation

A sedative will be administered to you to make you more comfortable for the procedure.

Local anaesthetic will then be applied to your eyelid.

  1. Surgery – Depending on the method you choose

Surgery will commence depending on the method that you choose to proceed with, incision, partial incision or non-invasive.

  1. Recovery room

Once the surgery is over, you will be brought to the recovery room for the sedative to wear off. And the recovery process begins!

Reviews of patients who have undergone double eyelid surgery in Singapore

Here is one patient sharing her experience.

I have this droopy eyelids problem, so I underwent upper and lower eyelid correction to correct this problem. It was done via fat transfer to my eyelids, and after that I had laser to treat my face. I feel it’s a job well done from what I can see.

Here is another sharing her review.

The reason why I chose to have double eyelid surgery is because as I’m nearing 40, my eyelids are sagging. I have natural double eyelids, but the sagging causes my eyes to look small. So I want to have my eyes appear brighter and bigger and have my features more alert overall. The procedure took about two hours, and was relatively painless as anaesthesia was used. It was a LA procedure, and I was awake the entire time. When the doctor started on my right eye after finishing with my left eye, there was a slight discomfort as probably the anaesthesia wore off, but it was still very manageable. Three months after the procedure, I’m proud to say I have very natural looking double eyelids.

How to ensure that I get the best results from my double eyelid surgery

Double eyelid surgery is a common procedure in Singapore. When you visit the clinic for consultation, it is best to ask the doctor or plastic surgeon to show you some before after results of their patients.

  1. Discuss the type of eyelid and height of crease that you want

It is also best to discuss in detailed the type of eyelid and height of the crease you want. It is also important to talk to your doctor about the recovery process and the follow up needed after the surgery.

  1. Discuss with your doctor the method which suits your circumstance

Depending on your preference, your doctor will recommend you the best method that suit your needs. An important point is also the recovery time. If you have a physically intensive job, or that you are not able to leave work for an extended duration period of time, the non-invasive method might suit you better.

If on the other hand your job is backend facing, or that you can take some time of work to recover, the incision method might suit you better.

  1. Proper Recovery after the procedure

It is important that you follow the instructions of your Doctor to have a proper recovery to ensure the best results.

By2 Yumi & Miko denies undergoing plastic surgery

Remember the last time we discussed the By2 plastic surgery transformation in detail?

Well, that wasn’t too long ago but speculations of the By2 plastic surgery transformation has once again run amok in the Internet sphere. This time round, with a nugget of sass.

With Netizens calling out the sisters, accusing the tantalizing twins of going under the knife one too many times and looking unnatural and somewhat stiff, the pop stars claimed that they “have nothing to say”.

Well, with their appearance taking on such drastic difference, it is no wonder the sisters are remaining tight-lipped when facing such allegations.

It seems like the twins are tired of the accusations and claim that their appearance will be judged no matter what.

But with pictorial evidences of the girls back when they were 16 and now, it does seem like the twins have undergone tremendous change, deviating further away from their natural looks with each passing year.

Yumi came to the duo’s defense claiming that “People usually get prettier and prettier because we can enhance our features with improved makeup techniques and other products.”

While it is certainly true that make up techniques can make a significant difference to a person’s appearance, it is however impractical to go from a tapered double eyelid crease to a deep set parallel eyelid crease without the help of some professional plastic surgeons.

When asked to push their noses up to prove that they’ve not undergone any Rhinoplasty procedure, Yumi quickly declines and pushes the responsibility to her sister, Miko.

Caught off guard, Miko reluctantly pushes the front of her nose lightly, to which Yumi quickly jumped to her defense, claiming that “Because we are twins, we are the same.”

It sure is suspicious when Yumi not only almost immediately declined the opportunity to prove the allegations otherwise, but also quickly threw her sister under the bus.

Regardless, seeing is believing, and until we see the malleability of the twins’ nose, it is highly unlikely we’re going to believe otherwise.

So what do you think? Did By2 undergo any further plastic surgery procedures?

3 procedures to magically look younger after lunch

$

It’s finally lunchtime and you’ve absolutely had it for the day! You look yourself in the mirror before leaving the office and all you see is a worn and tired looking face.

Those wretched wrinkles on your forehead seemed to have accentuated across the week, those sunken cheeks due to the stress of the workload and my oh my, let’s not go to those listless looking eyes.

As depressing as it sounds, there are some quick fixes you can do in just 30 minutes, yes, you saw that right, only 30 minutes, to restore the youth in you.

Let’s find out how.

1)Free that forehead of wrinkles

Girl with wrinkles

If wrinkles on your forehead are your nemesis, consider getting wrinkle fillers. Hyaluronic acid wrinkle fillers such as Juvederm, Restylane and Perlane are the most popular fillers used to smooth out those creases on your forehead.

After the wrinkles on the forehead are located, these fillers are injected under the surface of the skin. The aesthetician will then ‘mold’ the fillers by massaging the injected area, allowing the fillers to sit nicely into the crevices.

The hyaluronic acid in the fillers, immediately fill those creases, giving it a more plump and smooth appearance.

2) Plump up those cheeks

Sunken cheeks are common as we get older since we start to shed those baby fats. It sure doesn’t help if the hectic workload is contributing to the hollows of our cheeks.

Sunken cheeks cause us to look older and even sickly and so the solution is to get them plumped up.

Mid-face lift likewise uses hyaluronic acid fillers such as Juvedern, Restylane and Perlane. The fillers are injected into the mid section of the cheek to plump them up.

There are two ways in which the injection can be performed, depending on your aesthetician. One way is to inject from the bottom, up to your cheeks.

In this way, the needle is inserted diagonally from the side of your mouth, sliding the needle to the cheeks before injecting the fillers.

The other way, which is known to be a more effective way, but requires more control and precision, would be a direct shot to the middle of the cheeks.

In this way, the needle will be inserted into the middle of the cheek, through the skin and just right on top of the bone, the fillers will be injected.

The procedure is repeated a few times within a ‘triangular zone’ to give the section of the cheek a more perky and 3-dimentional finish.

3) Say goodbye to dark eye and eye hollows

Eye Hollows

Our eyes are the most important feature on our faces.

The brighter and fuller our eyes, the more attractive and youthful we look.

Aging is definitely one of the culprits that causes the sunken hollow eyes, but long hours on our work computer and those endless paperwork have definitely encouraged the dark rings around our under eyes.

Dark and sunken eyes make us appear tired terribly haggard.

It also seems to have the power to drain away what remaining youth we have left.

Fillers softens and rejuvenates the hollows, at the same time, eradicates dark circles to create more youthful look.

Small amounts of hyaluronic acid fillers are injected under the eyes.

This procedures instantly lifts and plumps the hollows of the under eye to restore a more youthful contour between your eyes and cheeks.

Time to look younger

Each procedure only takes 30 minutes or less and they are almost painless.

There might be slight bruising on the area that the procedure is performed but all you need is to whip out your trusty concealer because there’s nothing your concealer and foundation can’t fix.

Do a little touch up on the bruised area and you are good to go.

So if you’re having one of those ‘I feel awfully ugly and need to look beautiful immediately’ days, make a consultation with your aesthetician and visit him or her during your lunch.

We ensure that you’ll feel rejuvenated, more confident and look younger even before your lunch hour is up!

Look for a Doctor for your lunchtime procedure here!

[2018 edition] Complete Guide to Liposuction in Singapore

$
0
0

Liposuction, also known as lipoplasty or lipectomy, refers to a cosmetic surgery procedure that removes unwanted fat from the body.

The more common areas include the abdomen, thighs, face, buttocks, back and arms, where traditional exercise methods may not remove these unwanted fats in a timely fashion.

In our modern Singapore work lifestyle where people hardly have time to exercise, liposuction is fast catching on as a way to remove unwanted fats fast.

Every day in Singapore, there are about a dozen male and female patients undergoing liposuction procedure.

The most natural way to lose unwanted fats is of course by dieting and exercising. However, these can take months of disciplined living.

For those who cannot afford the time or discipline, they resort to liposuction surgery. Liposuction removes fat cells which alters the shape of the body.

However, not all candidates are good for this procedure as it brings about it’s own risk, and the amount of fat that can be safely removed is limited.

In this article, we will discuss the very popular questions from Singaporeans on liposuction, including:

  • Who is a good candidate for liposuction?
  • How is Liposuction done?
  • Which part of the body is suitable for Liposuction?
  • Recovery time of Liposuction
  • Results of the procedure
  • What questions to ask your Doctor before a Liposuction procedure
  • Side effects of liposuction
  • Alternatives to liposuction
  • Cost of liposuction in Singapore
  • Liposuction patient reviews
  • How to find the best Liposuction Doctor in Singapore

Am I a good candidate for Liposuction in Singapore?

Who is a good candidate for liposuction in Singapore? Firstly it is important to set the right expectations for this procedure.

This is a surgical procedure, so this means that this procedure comes with risk. You should be:

  1. In a good health condition if you want to undergo liposuction
  2. Have firm and elastic skin
  3. Good muscle tone
  4. Should be within 30% of your ideal weight
  5. Have concentrated pocket of fats that do not respond well to exercise
  6. Importantly, you should not have a life threatening or medical condition that can affect healing

In general, age is not a factor in liposuction. However, older patients may have less elastic skin and this may affect the final results.

What questions should I ask my Doctor before the Liposuction procedure?

Before you decide to go for this procedure, you should be talking with your doctor and setting your expectations. Here are some pointers you should be discussing with your doctor:

  1. Goals of undergoing this procedure
  2. Liposuction options
  3. Discuss likely outcomes
  4. Potential complications from liposuction
  5. Benefits and risks
  6. Total costs involved
  7. Your current medical condition
  8. Previous surgeries that you have undergone

As this is a surgical procedure, it is important that you understand all aspects of the procedure. Talk to your doctor and ensure that you feel comfortable before going for this procedure.

How is Liposuction done? – Liposuction Techniques and Methodology

Depending on the type of liposuction procedure that you are planning to undergo, it could be done as outpatient or inpatient. If you are targeting more than 100ml of fat, liposuction have to be done in a hospital, or in an ambulatory surgery centre.

Before the procedure, you will be given anesthesia. Again depending on the amount of fat to be removed, it may be local anesthesia or general anesthesia.

Once anesthesia has taken effect, a cannula will be used to perform the procedure. The cannula is attached to a suction device, and will be inserted into the body (into the fatty area between the skin and muscles) via small incisions.

Excess fat will then be sucked out using a suction pump or a large syringe.

However, with the advancement of technology, there are now new techniques, which is less tiring for doctors and because of that could enhance patient safety.

Tumescent Liposuction

This method will be done using tubes and under local anesthesia. Targeting the part of the body where unwanted fats is to be removed, a tube will be inserted into the area.

Next, a large amount of an anesthetic solution containing lidocaine and epinephrine is injected into the fatty tissue before traditional liposuction is done.

Ultrasonic liposuction (non-surgical and non-invasive)

Ultrasonic fat reduction is fast gaining popularity as it is a non-invasion treatment. Because of this, there is no recovery time, no side effects and no pain as well.

This procedure makes use of ultrasound waves which are transmitted with an ultrasound probe into the fat layer of the skin, stimulating lipolysis of fat cells.

This causes triglycerides to be released from fat cells.

These fats are then expelled from the body naturally. Less fats in the body results in visible inch loss at the treated area.

Laser fat reduction (non-surgical and non-invasive)

Laser fat reduction method uses low doses of light laser therapy to target parts of the body which do not respond to normal diet and exercise.

As low levels of laser energy disrupt the fat cell membranes, this releases intra-cellular fat from the body.

Best results from this procedure is usually achieved over a course of many treatments for the same body part. Intense exercise after treatment will further accelerate the breakdown and removal of fat from the area.

The good thing about this treatment is that it does not affect the skin, blood vessels and nerves around it.

Which part of the body is suitable for Liposuction?

Here are some parts of the body which is suitable for liposuction:

Recovery time of Liposuction

Patients who have a general anesthetic would have to spend the night in the hospital, while patients who had a local anesthetic might be able to leave on the same day, depending on the amount of fats removed.

Most people can expect to return to normal activities in about two weeks. The bruising and swelling should last for about 4 weeks, while numbness at the area where fat was removed will last for up to 8 weeks.

Result of Liposuction

It is important to wait for the swelling to go down before you judge the result of the procedure.

People who maintain their weight can expect excellent results.

For those who gained weight after liposuction, they might find their fat distribution altering. This means that if your problematic area used to be your stomach, it may now become your hips.

Side Effects of Liposuction

As this is a surgical procedure, there will be side effects to liposuction.

Common side effects of liposuction include:

  1. Temporary swelling, bruising, soreness, and numbness in and around the treated areas.
  2. Irritation and minor scarring around the incision sites where the cannulas were inserted.
  3. Baggy or rippling skin. The skin will usually tighten and retract after a few months. However in some people the skin may remain somewhat loose.

Less common side effects include:

  1. Colour changes in the skin.
  2. Uneven skin surface over the treated area.
  3. Damage done to the nerves and skin. The heat generated during ultrasound-assisted liposuction may burn the skin or damage the tissue under the skin.

Alternatives to Liposuction

If you do not wish to undergo the invasive Liposuction, here are some alternatives to Liposuction for you to consider:

1. Laser Liposuction

Laser liposuction is used for removing concentrated fats in any part of your body, which even a combination of rigorous exercise and diet will fail to get rid off.

It is also considered as one of the safest fat removal options. The technique uses cold laser to penetrate your skin and react with fat cells to make them release their fat, which is used later by your body for energy.

The procedure does not have any severe side effects. However, people with long-term diseases should not opt for this.  This procedure has a quick recovery time, is generally considered safe and painless.

2. Mesotherapy

Mesotherapy will make use of multiple injections of chemical compounds directly into fat cells, destroying them in the process.

This procedure will also burn fats while helping with skin wrinkles and sagging, can be used in locations where wrinkles appear.

The downside is that this procedure may take many sessions for results to be visible.

3. Ultrasound

This procedure makes use of high frequency ultrasonic waves that penetrate the skin into the targeted fats without destroying the skin or the surrounding tissue.

This procedure will mechanically destroy the fat cells and is a non invasive treatment, and is a good alternative to liposuction.

4. Cryolipolysis

This new treatment is used to remove areas of fat in the lower abdomen or on the sides of the body by freezing the fats.

Because fat cells are more sensitive to cold temperatures than other skin cells, cryolipolysis freezes the lipids in fat cells which then slowly dissolve with no trauma or injury to surrounding tissues.

Because of this, results are not immediate and fat layer reduction becomes visible gradually only over the course of one to six months.

5. Radio frequency

This is one of the newer techniques, and it uses radio frequency which delivers energy to the areas of fat by driving controlled heat deep within the fat cells and subsequently destroys them.

There is no downtime for this procedure, and patients can resume their activities immediately.

Another benefit of radio frequency is its ability to both reduce fat and tighten the skin by directing energy to target collagen.

6. Endermologie

In this procedure, fat is removed by activating natural lipolysis and increasing blood flow. It not only has a positive effect on the skin, but also achieves far more accurate results that other non-surgical methods of slimming.

The down side to endermologie is that this is a long-term process and requires many sittings, and for results to show it will take around 6 – 8 sessions.

What is the cost of Liposuction in Singapore?

The final price of liposuction in Singapore depends on the doctor’s fee, the venue for the procedure, and the method used.

Depending on the method, some surgeons use the latest technology which will increase the cost of the liposuction procedure.

The price is also dependent on the amount of fats to be removed, and the location where the fat is to be removed.

In general, the cost of liposuction in Singapore starts from $1600 per body area. The traditional liposuction procedure will cost about $8000 to $18000 in Singapore.

Review of patients who have undergone Liposuction in Singapore

Here is one Singaporean patient sharing his experience:

I had toyed with the idea of having excess fat removed from my torso and chest regions for some time but felt it was better to exercise it all off. After several years of attempting this I decided to undergo liposuction in Singapore. I researched and compared having the procedure conducted in Thailand or Australia but once the Doctor personally I was convinced he was the right choice for me. He was extremely professional, answering my many questions via email prior to my initial consultation. So when I finally met with him in his rooms in Singapore I booked the procedure for the following week.  I needed a general anaesthetic for the procedure so a specialist was needed to oversee this aspect. I was at all times treated with a delightful respect. Gently approached to make sure I felt comfortable and always attentively had my questions answered. The procedure went off without a hitch. I felt very little discomfort and was pleasantly surprised at how quickly I was able to safely make my way accompanied home. The following day my follow up was the first view I had of a greatly reduced me. I was ecstatic with the results.

[2018 edition] All you need to know about Facelift in Singapore

$

Facelift, also known as rhytidectomy, is a plastic surgery procedure that is used to give a more youthful facial appearance.

Ageing brings with it the inevitable of loose sagging skin, wrinkles, fine lines and deep folds.

Facelift is one of the most effective ways for people in Singapore to turn back the clock on these problems on the face associated with ageing from the face all the way to the neck.

This surgery is meant to tighten loose facial skin and lessen the appearance of wrinkles beyond injections such as botox.

Facelift, which can be done for both men and women, is fast gaining popularity as people seek to reverse the signs of ageing, and with the advance of modern plastic surgery techniques, no one will know that you have been under the knife.

During a facelift, a flap of the skin on both sides of the face is pulled back to return the face to a more youthful look. More will be explored in the sections below.

Other procedures that might be performed together with facelift surgery include double eyelid surgery, brow lift or neck lift.

In this article, we will discuss the very popular questions from Singaporeans on facelift, including:

  • Why is a facelift done?
  • Who is suitable for a facelift procedure?
  • How is the facelift done?
  • Different types of facelift
  • What to expect after the procedure
  • How to get the best results
  • Questions to ask your doctor during consultation
  • Non-surgical alternatives to facelift
  • Reviews of patients who have undergone facelift in Singapore
  • How to find the best Facelift doctor in Singapore

Why is a facelift procedure done?

This procedure is done because as we age, we lose elasticity in our skin.

On top of that, our facial tissues lose volume and fat deposit increases in some areas and decreases in other areas.

This causes a change in the appearance and shape of our face. Although this is part of growing old, people who are concerned about these problems can consider a facelift.

Here are some issues that would warrant a facelift:

  • Sagging skin on the face
  • Excess skin on the jawline
  • Sagging skin on the neck
  • Wrinkly skin on the face or neck area

However, for those who are looking for a solution to changes in skin colour or to treat the wrinkles, facelift would not be the treatment for those problems.

Who is suitable for a facelift procedure?

This procedure is suitable for people who are self-conscious about the way they look due to sagging skin on their face and neck.

Instead of hiding, they want to undergo facelift to feel more confident about themselves. In general, one should have a positive outlook with realistic expectations.

Patients who wish to undergo this procedure should be in good general health and no pre-existing conditions.

As for the procedure, if you have ageing concerns such as sagging skin beyond the one line of wrinkle in which case can be dealt with botox or fillers, you will be a good candidate for facelift surgery.

As this is a surgical procedure, one should be in general good health to undergo this procedure.  For those who smoke, you will have to stop smoking prior to and during the recovery phase as smoking can result in decreased blood flow resulting in increased scarring, infection and other post-operation complications.

How is a Facelift procedure done?

Because each face has a unique shape and contour, each patient’s surgery will be different.

During a traditional facelift, the doctor makes an incision that typically begins around the hairline from the temple and curves around the earlobe, ending at the bottom of the hairline.

The surgeon may also make a small incision under the chin to specifically tighten the skin of the neck.

There will be a point of main incision and also the secondary incision, together with the area of dissection (as per picture).

The plastic surgeon will then separate the skin from the underlying tissue, where fat is removed and the surrounding muscle and tissue is repositioned and tightened.

The tissues below the skin are surgically altered to return the face to a more youthful look.

Thereafter, the skin is pulled upwards where the excess is trimmed and the incisions closed.

The main scar is hidden behind the hairline and there will only be a small visible scar below the chin.

What are the different types of Facelift?

There are several different types of facelift that you can undergo:

Mini-lift

The mini-lift is term is used to describe less-invasive procedures that use a smaller incision and work on a smaller area of the face than a traditional facelift.

It is designed to improve the appearance of loose skin in the neck, but with less dramatic results than a traditional facelift.

After using anesthesia to numb the patient’s face, the doctor will make an S-shaped incision from the patient’s sideburn, around the ear, toward the bottom of the hairline.

The surgeon will then tighten the connective tissue under the skin, removes excess skin, and closes the incision with small sutures. This procedure can help to address the signs of ageing before they become obvious.

Depending on the what the surgeon determines, a mini facelift can be done using local anaesthesia or a general anaesthesia.

S-Lift

The S-lift works on just the lower third of the face, smoothing out the neck and jowls. After applying anesthetic near the ear, the surgeon will make an S-shaped incision and separate the skin from the tissue underneath.

When the skin is lifted, the underlying muscles and tissues will become tightened.

Because of the smaller area being worked on (and therefore the smaller incision), this technique takes less time than a traditional facelift, and the recovery time is shorter.

Mid-facelift

For the mid-facelift, the doctor will make tiny incisions in the hairline above the patient’s ear, and also inside the mouth, leaving practically no scars.

For the procedure, the surgeon pulls the fat in the cheeks up and over the cheekbones to tighten sagging skin in the cheekbone area.

Doctors often perform this procedure using an endoscope — a tiny camera that allows the doctor to visualize the surgical area.

At times plastic surgeons will perform the mid-facelift together with double eyelid surgery.

What can I expect after my Facelift procedure?

After the procedure, one can expect:

  • Mild swelling
  • Bruising
  • Numbness
  • Moderate pain
  • Drainage from the incisions

Contact your doctor immediately if you experience (after your procedure):

  • Shortness of breath
  • Severe pain on the face or neck within 24 hours of surgery
  • Chest pain
  • Irregular heartbeats
  • Bleeding from the wounds

Patients typically return to action after about 2 weeks. One will have to wait till about 4 weeks to go back to strenuous exercise. Every patient heals differently, so it is important to listen to your Doctor’s instructions on how best to heal properly.

If you are wondering how soon you can face people after your facelift procedure, many patients would feel comfortable going out in public after 1.5 weeks or so. Unlike a breast surgery, one will not be able to cover the operated part easily as it is on the face.

Swelling will be at the peak about 2 days after surgery and the swelling and bruising will gradually get better from thereon.

If you want to put on make up, be sure to check with your doctor whether it is safe to do so during your recovery.

How to ensure you get the best result for your facelift procedure?

Facelift is a common procedure in Singapore, especially for people above 45 years old. When you visit your doctor for your consultation, it is best to ask the doctor to show you some before and after pictures of their patients. Due to MOH regulations, they will only be able to show you the before after pictures in their clinics.

  1. Discuss the goals of your facelift procedure with your doctor

It is best to discuss in detailed the type of results that you want. Be open and be specific so the doctor can get you the end results that you are looking for.

  1. Based on your goals, discuss the right procedure for you

While you think you might need a facelift, depending on what you are looking for, perhaps a non surgical alternative might suit you better. Your doctor will discuss with you what would be best procedure for the results that you are looking for.

  1. Discuss the likely outcomes and potential complications

Once the type of facelift procedure have been determined, discuss with your doctor the likely outcome that would result from the procedure. This is important because it would set your expectations right. At the same time, as this is an invasive procedure, discuss the potential complications that could arise as a result.

  1. Best recovery after the procedure

As important as the procedure is the recovery, because if you do not recover well after your surgery, you will not get the result you want. Do follow your doctor’s advice for the best recovery after your procedure.

What are some questions to ask your doctor during your Facelift consultation?

Use this checklist to ask your doctor in Singapore during your consultation:

  1. How many facelift procedures have you done?
  2. Do you have any good results of patients that you have operated on to show?
  3. Do you have any before after pictures that I can look at for this procedure?
  4. Am I a good candidate for facelift procedure?
  5. Where and how will you perform my procedure?
  6. What will be expected of me to get the best results?
  7. What type of facelift procedure would suit me?
  8. What is the recovery period?
  9. What should I do to recover well to get the best results?
  10. What are the risks associated with facelift?
  11. How long is the recovery time?
  12. Are there cases whereby the facelift procedure fails?
  13. What are the options if I’m not satisfied with the procedure?

If I don’t want to undergo the surgical facelift procedure, what are some non-surgical alternatives to facelift in Singapore?

Here are some non-surgical alternatives to facelift in Singapore that you can undergo:

1. Thread Lift

Threadlift, also known as featherlift, uses a special thread to boost drooping skin. After applying anesthesia, the doctor inserts a needle and surgical thread (or a suture like polypropylene) into the skin via a small incision which is a couple of millimeters long.

Just like sewing a piece of fabric together, when the thread is pulled tight, the muscle and tissue tighten with it and the doctor can hide this excess tissue in places such as the scalp that is not easily seen. This allows threadlift to recontour the facial skin, and the total time needed is only about 30 minutes. This procedure is relatively painless and easy, gaining it popularity for threadlift in Singapore.

2. Thermage

Thermage is a non-surgical and non-invasive procedure, and uses a radio frequency device to tighten the skin, and is best suited for younger patients with slight wrinkles.

The heat of the radio frequency energy activates the skin’s natural renewal process of collagen. This results in the skin tightening and improves the smoothness and texture of the skin.

3. Botox

Botox has become increasingly common for use in facial rejuvenation. Botox is injected under the surface of the skin and paralyzes the underlying muscles due to the neurotoxin called botulinum toxin.

It can be used to remove fine lines and wrinkles, and is often used to enhance the look of other procedures such as skin resurfacing and filler injections.

4. Ultherapy

Ultherapy is a non-invasive treatment which uses safe ultrasound technology to lift and tighten the skin naturally.

This procedure works by stimulating collagen production by delivering focused ultrasound energy to the skin’s foundation layer typically addressed in cosmetic surgery—without cutting or disrupting the surface of the skin.

5. Dermal fillers

Dermal fillers is another non-surgical alternative to facelift which can restore youthful fullness to one’s face. It can be used to hide scars, remove fine lines, reduce wrinkles and enhance shallow contours.

Dermal fillers is a good alternative because it can offer many benefits of a facelift, but without the downtime associated with such a surgery.

What is the cost of Facelift in Singapore?

If you are looking for a facelift in Singapore, the price range would be between $6000 to $15000, depending on the extent of your facelift.

If you are undergoing non-surgical alternatives to facelift, the cost would be anywhere from $1200 and up, depending on the procedure that you are undertaking.

Reviews of patients who have undergone Facelift in Singapore

Here is one patient sharing her experience of her facelift procedure that was performed in Singapore:

For the past few years I struggled with sagging skin around my cheeks and neck. This cause me to be not feel confident about myself everytime i go out. This is a problem as I have a client facing role (and still plan on continuing work), and I look much older than my age. I decided to go consult and underwent a facelift. I took 2 weeks of leave to undergo this procedure as I didn’t want anyone to see me in the recovery stage. Recovery was fine and I didn’t experience any complications out of the ordinary. I’m extremely satisfied with the procedure.

Korea Celebrity Plastic Surgery Faceoff: Kim Hyuna vs Lee Hyori – Who did it better?

$

0

What to expect when you undergo Rhinoplasty in Singapore?

Looking to undergo Rhinoplasty surgery in Singapore? Let’s explore more about the procedure, including what to expect and the process of the procedure.

Looking for a surgeon? Find a Rhinoplasty Singapore Plastic Surgeon.

Find a Rhinoplasty Doctor

Rhinoplasty, also known as a nose plastic surgery, is a procedure that can not only correct health defects such as breathing issues, but can also significantly alter the facial contours for the better.

There are many asepcts of the nose that can be altered with a simple procedure of Rhinoplasty.

Other than changing the general shape and height of the nose, Rhinoplasty can also tackle several minute aspects of the nose.

From reducing the bulbousness of the nose, refining the nose tip to perfection, to changing the angle of the nose correlating to rest of the face, much can be accomplished to strike a balance with the other facial features, with a Rhinoplasty procedure.

As such, many have turned to Rhinoplasty, owing to its capacity to single handedly restore the harmony in the facial contours.

Because the nose is the centerpiece on the face, the nose is essentially the most vital facial feature that can either make or break the harmony of the face.

As such, even the most minor of tweakings to the nose area can result in significant changes to one’s image and appearance.

For those whose confidence has taken a hit due much dissatisfaction in the nose department and have been considering making some changes in that area for the longest time, a Rhinoplasty procedure may just be that reasonable option you can consider as it can definitely contribute to much improvement in your overall facial appearance.

However just as the decision to proceed with a Rhinoplasty surgery is one that requires much deliberation, to find the right doctor for you is just as crucial.

As Rhinoplasty is a procedure that demands nimbleness and a keen eye for detail, it is imperative that you do your homework and research on doctors who not only understands your expectations but one whose expertise lies in Rhinoplasty, in order for you to attain the most desirable outcome for your nose.

Looking for a Singapore Cosmetic Doctor? Find a Rhinoplasty Singapore Plastic Surgeon.

Find a Rhinoplasty Doctor

What happens after you have found the Plastic Surgeon of your choice to undergo Rhinoplasty?

A consultation will be made and this would be one of the most crucial first steps you would need to pay attention to.

During your first consultation, it is good to provide pictures of the noses that are to your liking, in order for your plastic surgeon to have a better understanding of the type of nose you prefer.

However, it is important to understand that each individual is different, thus what may suit one may not necessarily be reflective on you.

While the pictures provide the surgeons an idea of your desired outcome, do not be offended should your plastic surgery advise you against certain aspects of the changes.

A good Singapore plastic surgeon will take into account your holistic features before advising you on what would be the best operation procedure.

Because rhinoplasty can modify skin, cartilage or bone, it is important for you to discuss with your plastic surgeon on what this surgery can achieve for you and if you are inclined towards the end result.

For those who are intimated by a Rhinoplasty procedure, it may not be a bad idea for you to opt for dermal nose fillers to alter the general shape of your nose.

While nose fillers are limited in its capacity to significantly alter the nose to your desired outcome, nose fillers allow you to have a general idea of what a nose job can do for you.

If you are looking for a non-surgical option, nose fillers may be an alternative option for you.

What happens during a Rhinoplasty surgery?

During an open nose rhinoplasty, the plastic surgeon makes incisions at the columella (the skin that separates the nostrils) to access the bones and cartilage that support the nose.

To prevent scarring, the incisions are usually made inside the nose via the nostrils so that they are not visible after the surgery.

With the columella cut, the nose is fipped open and the plastic surgeon has a clear frontal view of the nose.

Depending on the area that you are altering, the plastic surgeon will perform the surgery on that particular area(s).

In many cases, for the desired result to be attained, do expect some bone and cartilage to be removed, or additional bodily tissue may be added (either from another part of the body or using a synthetic filler), to give the final outcome that added boost and shape.

After the surgeon has rearranged and reshaped the bone and cartilage inside the nose, the skin and tissue is covered back over the new structure of the nose.

A splint is then used to support the new shape of the nose as it heals.

In general, a Rhinoplasty surgery usually opts for  local anesthesia, however, depending on the surgeon’s preference or the complexity of your surgery, general anesthesia may also be adopted under those circumstances.

What happens after Rhinoplasty surgery?

Right after you are wheeled out of the surgical room from your nose job, you will subjected to bed rest.

Do expect to feel groggy as the anesthesia is still in your system.

The nurse can offer you a warm beverage and crackers to get your energy level up before you will be discharged.

Post surgery care is the extremely important as it can affect the recovery of your nose job.

One of the most important things you must ensure is to keep your head raised higher than your chest at all times to reduce swelling and bleeding.

This would mean that you would need to stack a few pillows when you sleep for the first few weeks after your Rhinoplasty in Singapore surgery.

Do expect minor discomfort as your nose may be blocked due to the swelling and the splints that are lodged in your nose.

The splints are usually removed in one week and for some, the removal of splints may incur some pain. Bleeding and mucus together with stale blood is common a few days after surgery so that should not be a cause for alarm.

Typically, there will be the presence of swelling and bruising in and around the nose after your nose job and they will usually take about 10 – 14 days to dispel.

In addition, it is wise to take the following precaution to better care for your nose after your rhinoplasty singapore procedure:

  • Avoid high intensity exercises such as aerobics and jogging as this will increase the frequency of nose bleed and also post surgical complication
  • Do not blow your nose for at least 6 weeks as placing pressureon the septomucoperichondrial flap can potentially lead to a perforation, nose bleed and even the separation of mucoperichondrial flaps.
  • Avoid smiling and laughing, anything which causes extreme facial expressions as the stitches may pull and this will in turn cause the nose to bleed
  • Do not wear glasses on your nose for 4 weeks to avoid the weight of the glasses to shift the your healing nasal bone
  • Brush your teeth gently as the act of brushing may manipulate the lips and cause a hindrance in the healing process
  • Use sunblock when outdoors to prevent discoloration
  • Abstain from alcohol, Vitamin E, fish oil and herbs for the time being as it may have adverse effects when taken with the medication prescribed by the doctor and also thins the blood, thereby increasing excessive bleeding
  • Abstain from smoking for the time being too as it can also greatly affect the healing process
  • Do not chew so much as this may affect the healing process and can also cause pain from excessive chewing. Opt for soups or foods that do not require much chewing during the healing process
  • Avoid hot or spicy food after your Rhinoplasty surgery as this will dilate the blood vessels, which will lead to more bruising and swelling
  • Apply cool compress religiously. 20 minutes on followed by 40 minutes off. However, be sure not to use ice directly on nose and skin.
  • Eat more pineapples or take Bromelain (a derivative of pineapple extract) to help reduce the surgical swelling

Risks of Rhinoplasty surgery

Like all major surgeries, rhinoplasty carries the potential risk of bleeding, infection and even a bad reaction to anesthesia. Other risks include:

  • Constant nose bleeding
  • Difficulty breathing through the nose
  • Numbness
  • Pain or swelling around the nose
  • Scarring
  • Hole in the septum (the wall that separate the nostrils)

What is the cost of Rhinoplasty in Singapore?

The cost of rhinoplasty in Singapore depends on many factors.

Firstly it depends on the technique of the surgeon, for example the surgeon may only use an external implant, or he or she may choose to harvest your cartilage to insert into the nose which will increase the cost. Hospital fees also vary depending on the facilities, and other costs include anesthetic and post surgery care.

In general, the price of rhinoplasty in Singapore range from $6000 to $18000.

Get a Smooth Complexion with PICO Acne Scars Laser (PICOCARE)

The infuriating and painful truth about acne is, regardless of the severity of the acne condition or the level of attention and method we choose to treat our acne, acne somehow always manages to find a way to leave its nasty mark on us.

Acne scars that cause the surface of the skin looking uneven and bumpy, are not only unsightly but also makes us look older than we are.

But before you run off in search of the solution, it is first crucial to understand the type of acne scars you suffer from as it is a determinant of the treatment that is most suitable for your condition.

Keloid Acne Scars

Keloids scars are one of the more severe types of acne scars where the acne scars are raised as compared to the indented scars that most acne leaves behind.

Keloids grow many times the size of the original wound, and it can continue to grow laterally even after the site of acne is healed. While uncommon, there are some people are more prone to developing keloids.

Keloids are caused due to the overproduction of collagen in the body. As such, the body is unaware that the acne wound has healed and continues its production of collagen, thereby leaving a raised scar also known as keloids.

Ice Pick Scars

Ice pick scars are narrowly pitted shaped scars but extend deeper into the skin as compared to other types of scars, as such ice pick scars are one of the trickiest acne scars to treat.

Ice pick scars look like many small and narrow but deep holes that pierce through the surface of the skin with some, looking very much like huge open pores.

Ice pick scars are caused usually by severe cases of acne such as cystic acne or deep, inflamed blemish that occur deep in the pores. As such, the skin tissue is destroyed, leaving a deep and column-like scar also known as ice pick scars.

Boxcar Scars

Boxcar scars, unlike ice pick scar, are shallower but wider. They have round or oval depressions that give the skin an uneven appearance.  Wider than ice pick scars, boxcar scars give the skin an uneven appearance.

Boxcar scars are developed when the inflammation of the acne breakout destroys collagen, causing tissues to be lost. The loss of tissue causes the skin around the area to be vulnerable. Without this support, the pitted appearance on the surface of the skin is created.

The severity of boxcar scars is largely dependent on the amount of tissue lost during the acne outbreak.

Rolling Scars

Very much like boxcar scars, rolling scars are also characterised by their shallow indentations on the surface of the skin. Having soft and smooth edges, rolling scars are barely noticeable should the skin be stretched.

Rolling scars are caused, usually by a prolong term of inflammatory acne where bands of tissue develop in the deeper structures of the skin’s surface as well as between the surfaces of the skin.

Such acne scars are typically more noticeable with age when the skin loses elasticity, creating the trademark ‘rolling’ effect.

Acne Scar Solution: PICO Acne Scars Laser With PICOCARE

While dealing with acne can be both emotionally and psychologically taxing, coping with the aftermath of acne can prove to be equally distressing.

With a plethora of acne treatments in the market that promise to eradicate the outbreak, what then is the solution for acne scars that can promote the restoration of smooth and healthy-looking skin?

PICO Acne Scars Laser with PICOCARE at Amaris B. Clinic is your answer.

What is PICOCARE and how can it help with acne scars?

PICOCARE is an FDA-approved Picosecond laser. Targeting and specialising in the treatment of acne scars and reduction of pore size, it has shown promising results for patients who suffer from severe acne scarring.

Using a 450-picosecond pulse, its laser energy is able to penetrate into the skin with great precision, targeting the treated area without damaging the skin surface.

Emitting short but powerful laser pulses, PICOCARE treatment is proven to have higher efficacy when targeting acne scars.

Due to its precision, PICOCARE treatment also promises lesser downtime, improved safety and greater patient satisfaction rate.

How does PICO Acne Scars Laser with PICOCARE work?

PICO Acne Scars Laser can penetrate several layers into the skin, allowing treatment to target from the root. Upon identifying the targeted area, a pulse is delivered, causing tiny globules of air or bubbles to be formed.

After the treatment is done, collagen will fill up the bubbles that were created from deep within, allowing former indentations to be raised.

As a result, patients will find themselves with a smooth and supple appearance. During a patient’s recovery stage, collagen fills up the bubbles and raises indentations and depressions caused by acne scars.

This results in a smoother and healthier appearance.

What Are The Advantages Of PICOCARE?

There are several advantages to PICOCARE. These include:

  • Shorter treatment and lesser downtime
  • Increased patient safety
  • Higher precision which minimises surrounding skin damage
  • Painless and comfortable
  • Delivers energy in shorter bursts, to remodel skin, improve skin texture.
  • Technologically more advanced and more effective than Q-switched lasers

What is Breast Augmentation?

Breast augmentation is a type of surgery aimed at increasing both the size and shape of the breast. It usually involves using breast implants to enhance the breasts’ size. Sometimes, a procedure known as the fat transfer is also used, where fats coming from other parts of the patient’s body will be taken and implanted into the patient’s breast in order to improve its volume.

There are many reasons why women would opt for breast augmentation, although the most common reason is to improve the looks of their body.

But aside from looking attractive, some women would undergo breast augmentation for other reasons. For instance, women who lost a lot of weight may need to undergo the surgery in order to reshape their breasts. In some cases, a reconstructive breast surgery may also be required as part of the breast cancer treatment.

How is the Procedure Done?

There are three primary methods of undergoing breast augmentation procedure:

Inframammary (under breast incision) method

One of the most popular methods used in breast augmentation is the use of breast implants. A breast implant is basically a medical prosthesis that’s implanted inside the breast. In this procedure, the surgeon will make an incision or cut at the underside of the patient’s breast, right on that area where the skin folds. After this, the surgeon places the prosthesis or the implant into the opening. Because of the cut, you can expect a scar on your breasts after the surgery, although the scars could fade eventually, but will not disappear completely.

Trans-axillary (armpit) method

Another technique that a surgeon may use for breast implant is by placing it through a cut below your arm. This surgery is performed using an endoscope, which comes with a camera and has surgical instruments at the bottom. The tool is then inserted into the cut. For this method, you won’t have any scars on your breast but there will be visible scars at your arm’s underside.

Peri-Areola Method

Another method is by making a cut around your areola’s edge where the implant will be placed. The areola refers to that darkened part around your nipple. However, for this procedure, you might encounter problems with breastfeeding in the future.

Depending on the cosmetic surgeon, breast augmentation can be performed in many ways and it’s important that you discuss this with your doctor before you decide to undergo the surgery.

What types of Breast Implants are there?

As discussed above, breast augmentation would require inserting an implant in the breast in order to augment or enhance the size. Below are three of the most common implants that cosmetic surgeons use when it comes to breast augmentation:

  • Silicone Gel – this implant is the most common of all and it’s made from a silicone outer shell with silicone gel inside it. If in the event that the gel will leak, it either stays within the shell or it spills into the pocket of the breast implant. This is why if you’re going to choose this implant, you need to undergo regular checks with your doctor.
  • Saline Implants – this implant is filled with a sterilized saline solution, similar to salt water. It’s kept inside a silicone shell, which can be filled with varying amounts of saline solution, depending on the firmness and shape that the patient would want for her breasts. Unlike the silicone gel, when the saline solution leaks, the body will absorb the solution naturally. Thus, this is a much better alternative to the silicone gel.
  • Alternative Composite Implants – this implant is made from soy oil, polypropylene string, or other materials.

Is Breast Augmentation Right For Me?

Breast augmentation is a procedure that would require patients to undergo a surgery. Therefore, you need to think hard enough before deciding to go through with it. Here are some of the things that you should know about the procedure:

  • It will not prevent your breasts from sagging – one of the most common misconceptions about breast augmentation is that patients believe that this is the solution to their sagging breasts. If your aim is to correct your sagging breasts, then a breast lift is what you need.
  • It is not guaranteed to last a lifetime – breast implants are expected to last 7 to 12 years, the average is 10 years. There’s a possibility that the implant could rupture. You also need to consider the fact that as you age your breasts will also age. Furthermore, factors like weight loss or weight gain may also affect the shape and size of your breasts.
  • Mammograms could become more complicated – when an implant is placed in your breasts, it may be difficult to diagnose breast cancer if you have one since the implant could affect the results of the mammogram test.
  • It could affect your ability to breastfeed – there are some women who are still able to breastfeed right after undergoing a breast augmentation procedure although others find breastfeeding to be a challenge. It’s important that you discuss this with your doctor if you have plans to give birth in the future.
  • Your insurance will not cover the breast implant surgery – except if it’s medically necessary, your insurance company cannot cover the cost of breast augmentation procedure.

How to Prepare for the Breast Augmentation?

If you are determined to go through with the surgery, your surgeon should discuss with you what your options are and will help you to decide the size of the breast implant that’s suitable for you. The size of the breast implant will mainly depend upon your own personal decision.

Your doctor may put different sizes of implants into your bra so you will know how they feel and see how it will look on you and decide which size is more comfortable for you. Your doctor will also explain the different types of implants, including the different shapes and textures that it comes with.

The best method of estimating the most suitable size of the implant is in filing a plastic bag with water and then placing it in the patient’s bra. A sweater or shirt is then worn over so as to estimate the final result.

Your doctor may also ask you to undergo a baseline mammogram before you go through with the surgery. This is for your doctor to know the type of medications to use for the surgery. If you’re smoking, your doctor may ask you to quit for a certain period of time leading to the surgery.

What Are the Risks Involved in Breast Augmentation?

Before you decide to undergo the breast augmentation surgery, it may be worth it to understand the possible risks and complications that come with it. Your doctor may also discuss these risks with you prior to the surgery.

  • Infection – it’s rare for patients who have undergone breast augmentation to catch an infection. Yet, it does happen to some patients and can be really distressing. Some of the most common signs of infection are redness and swelling of the breast and fever. Your doctor may prescribe you with antibiotics for treatment. If your body doesn’t respond to the antibiotics, then the implant will be removed and replaced after the wound is totally healed.
  • Bleeding – right after surgery, there are instances when bleeding could occur at the implant pocket. When this happens, your surgeon will have to surgically remove the implant in order to control the bleeding. The wound will immediately be cleaned and a new implant will be placed. Signs of bleeding are increased pain, bruising, and swelling.
  • Capsule contracture – this refers to the hardening or distortion of the breast that sometimes comes with pain. In this case, a surgical incision of fibrous scar capsules around the implant will be required or a partial removal of the implant may be necessary. The implant can be inserted back with a new packet. Around 30 to 35 percent of patients have suffered from capsule contracture after breast augmentation surgery.
  • Problems with mammography – the breast implant could possibly block some areas of your breast from being visualized in a mammography but this can be avoided if the implant will be inserted below the muscle. If the implant could affect the mammogram results, patients who are at risk of developing breast cancer might not be diagnosed correctly.

What To Expect during your Breast Augmentation Surgery?

The breast augmentation surgery can be done in a surgical clinic or at a hospital’s outpatient facility. Unlike other surgery procedures, there is not a need for you to stay at the hospital for recovery and your doctor may ask you to go home right after the procedure is completed. It’s recommended that you ask someone to accompany you who can drive you home after the surgery.

In some cases, a general anesthesia will be used so you will be asleep during the entire time that the surgery is performed. Sometimes, local anesthesia will be applied, during which, you will be awake although your breast will feel numb during the entire time that the breast augmentation is performed. The procedure usually lasts between one to two hours.

What Happens During the Recovery Time?

For a few weeks after the surgery, you can expect to feel swelling and soreness on your breast area. Bruising could also take place.

While you are recovering, your doctor will ask you to wear a sports bra or a compression bandage to provide added support to your breast and maintain the proper positioning of the implants. Your doctor may also prescribe pain relievers to help manage the pain.

It’s important that you follow the instructions of your doctor when it comes to going back to work or returning to your usual activities. If your job is not that physically demanding, your doctor may allow you to return to work a week after the surgery.

Make sure you avoid doing strenuous activities during your recovery time. Avoid situations that could raise your pulse or trigger your blood pressure to increase – at least for a few weeks. During your recovery period, your breasts will be very sensitive to any jarring movements or physical contact.

In some cases, surgeons may use sutures that do not absorb on their own during the surgery. Sometimes, a drainage tube will be placed near the breasts. In this case, you will be required to go back to your doctor’s clinic for the removal.

Observe your breast and your body during the recovery period and inform your doctor immediately if you notice something disturbing symptoms. For instance, if you notice redness and warmth in your breast, or if you are having a fever, then you need to see your doctor immediately. This could indicate that you are having an infection.

If you’re having chest pains or have difficulty breathing, call your doctor right away. Do not ignore any symptoms that you feel during the process of recovery.

How Long Is the Recovery Period?

The recovery period will vary from one patient to another. If there are no complications, you should be able to get back to your normal routine after a few weeks. Breast augmentation will not really put you out of action for a very long time and you will have follow-up appointments with your doctor in order to monitor your process of recovery.

Most patients are able to get back to work after a week of recovery. However, your doctor may ask you to refrain from doing strenuous activities. Even if you feel like your breasts have already been healed, you must put off performing demanding physical activities until your doctor gives you the green light.

Are There Alternatives to Breast Augmentation?

If you believe that breast implant is not for you, yet you are determined to enlarge your breast, your best bet is to opt for implants that make use of your own fat cells in enhancing the tissues in your breast.

Also known as fat grafting, the process requires two separate procedures that will be performed on the same day.

Fat Grafting Step 1 – Removal of fat tissue from the body

The first part of the procedure requires removing the fat tissues. At this stage, you’ll be administered with a local anesthesia and the doctor will start to manually remove the fat tissues from those parts of your body where the fats are to be obtained. Some of the most common areas are the buttocks, thighs, and belly. The process is almost the same with the liposuction procedure except that it’s minimally invasive.

Fat Grafting Step 2 – Injecting fat tissue into breasts

The second part of the procedure is injecting the fat tissues into your breasts. For this method, the fat tissues that were harvested from your body will first be processed. This involves removing any unwanted components, such as water, blood, and oil. After that, the doctor will start injecting the fat tissues into your breast using very fine needles. The fat cells have to be injected into the various sections of your breasts in order to enhance the transfer of fats and make your breasts appear fuller and bigger.

It’s worth talking to your doctor about fat grafting if you believe that it’s more suitable for you than breast implant.

What is the cost of Breast Augmentation in Singapore?

The final cost depends on the surgeon, the method of BA and the facilities they use. In general, here is the approximate pricing for BA in Singapore, which includes surgeon fee, pre and post review, implant cost, consultation, anesthesia and also GST:

The price range should be anywhere between $8,000 – $15,000, depending on the factors above.

Reviews of patients who have undergone Breast Augmentation in Singapore

Here is one patient sharing her experience:

I had a bad breast implant surgery one year ago by another doctor.  The position too high and the scars were sink in.  After depressed for a year, I decide redo cos my friend got hers done by him and the result look v good.  The doctor change my round implants to teardrop and put them below muscle.  He also help me to redo the scar and even help me laser after for free. The 1st doctor advertise his price is cheaper, but in the end plus plus plus end up more than the second Doctor.  Maybe cos I am not local. I learn my lesson, but at least now I like my breasts.

Here is another patient sharing her review:

I did my breast augmentation on 30 Nov 14. Initially I was having depression the first week because of the height and swelling of breasts. But the doctor assured me and gave me a lot of attention. The swelling came down after 1st week and even more after 1 month. I see the results by 2nd month and I was extremely happy about it. My surgeon is a good doctor with no air and very caring. He is very hygienic and safe doctor that takes all precautions for a surgery. He is Korean trained and the stitches he sew on my breast are very fine thin line. Almost invisible to tell there is a surgery line. I didn’t like a waiting time because his clinic is always crowded. But again, I would prefer a qualified and experience doctor to handle my plastic surgery needs. Thanks again to his skillful pair of hands.

Jade Rasif Plastic Surgery: Did it help this Singapore DJ get famous?

$

A smoking hot DJ, a New Face first runner up and a model, Jade Rasif seems to be the ultimate package of sweet and spicy.

Commanding a $1000 per-hour set, Jade Rasif is one of the most highly paid, if not, the most highly paid DJ in Singapore. Yet, Jade Rasif was a name unheard of mere years ago when she was DJing in smaller gigs – a far cry from her current status.

But what has propelled the 24-year-old into the world of renowned party scenes and prominent gigs? According to the DJ, it was the New Face competition that she had participated in, in 2013 that had catapulted her into the world of fame.

Interestingly, the ex New Face contestant seemed to have also assumed a literal new face along the years, that has sparked much fascination.

So, what did the most highly paid DJ in Singapore do to transform herself into the bombshell she is today? Let’s find out!

Jade Rasif Nose Job

It is not a secret when it comes to the Jade Rasif’s nose that she has had a nose job done. In fact, the DJ herself has admitted to having insecurities about her nose from the get-go.

Having been born with a bump along the bridge of her nose, Rasif initially turned to dermal fillers to smoothen the kink – a procedure that would eventually lead Rasif to having a nose job done.

After several sessions of dermal fillers, Rasif found it to be not quite as sustainable as she found herself having to return to her aesthetician every 4-6 months with each trip costing her no less than $500.

As such, Jade Rasif decided to have her nose permanently done.

Inspired by Nitsa Noey, a winner of Miss Tiffany’s Universe, Rasif modeled her nose after the Thai star – a nose that carries a hefty pricetag of $10,000.

Post rhinoplasty sports a much sharper and refined nose bridge.

With a narrower nose bridge and a less bulbous nose alar, Jade Rasif looks more modelesque, not to mention, allowing her other facial features to be more pronounced.

Jade Rasif Botox Procedures

They say pictures speak a thousand words and this definitely applies when it comes comparing Rasif’s before and after Botox procedures.

Inheriting a stronger jawline, Rasif has expressed discontentment with her heavily emphasized jawline and decided to have it reduced with Botox.

Rasif’s in her pre-Botox procedure possesses a gentler jawline, accentuating a more cherubic countenance.

Post-Botox however, brings about yet another side of the DJ; one that is sultrier and sexier. From sweet to sexy, Botox is undoubtedly the secret behind drastic transformation.

Jade Rasif Dermal Fillers Procedures

Accompanying her smaller face is an even smaller and sharper chin. Prior to her rhinoplasty procedure, Rasif has admitted that dermal fillers were her go to cosmetic procedure to fine-tune her facial features.

Other than injecting dermal fillers into her nose, the 24-year-old has also used dermal fillers to achieve a sharper and smaller looking chin.

While each dermal filler procedure for her chin is not cheap by any means ($500 per session), Rasif stands by this procedure and religiously visits her aesthetician every 4-6 months to have dermal fillers injected into her chin.

Price aside, we do see that dermal fillers do truly make a significant difference to the DJ’s appearance.

Again, dermal fillers have done the job of eliminating Rasif’s former babyish image and injecting (no pun intended) a more sexy and some say provocative image into the 24-year-old.

Jade Rasif Breast Augmentation

For one to be a female DJ, especially a successful one, looks are unfortunately very much part of the equation.

And with the party scene calling for a touch of provocativeness, Rasif has given her audience exactly what they want.

Rasif’s double Es on her petite frame has undoubtedly crowned her the DJ with the bombshell body and it’s not hard to see why.

While the DJ claims that she was a double C prior to her breast augmentation, it seems double Cs weren’t quite enough for Rasif.

Opting to transform her breast to a Double E, Rasif agrees that her Es now are definitely a much-needed upgrade from her previous Cs.

And while it is evident that the DJ’s new set of boobs are just bursting out of her top, we cannot deny that her double Es are truly befitting of her sexy DJ image.

And so, a nose job, a breast augmentation, several Botox and dermal fillers procedures later, Jade Rasif has transformed into the sultry and seductive-looking lady she is today.

Other Singaporean celebrities who have done plastic surgery include Felicia Chin, Xiaxue and Bong Qiu Qiu and Taiwan based By2.

Large eyes, small nose, small face and a voluptuous body, Rasif seems to have checked all the boxes when it comes to meeting the mark of an attractive lady in today’s day and age.

So whether it is the New Face competition or the new face that she bought, one thing’s for sure, Rasif’s success in the modeling and DJ world is set to stay for quite some time.

[2018] Everything you need to know about Eye Bag Removal in Singapore

Eye bags in the region beneath the eyes are a common occurrence amongst most people due to the increasingly stressful lives they lead.

In fact, people as young as high school or college students can get eye bags. They lend the people sporting them a haggard look and often add years to a person’s actual age.

Under eye bags have, thus, become a common cosmetic concern for a lot of people.

If you have developed eye bags and are looking for a solution, you have come to the right place. In this article, we will discuss the causes for eye bags so that you can make the appropriate lifestyle changes if you so wish in order to avoid them.

In this article, we will discuss the very popular questions from Singaporeans on eye bag removal, including:

  1. What are the causes of eye bags?
  2. Treatment options – non surgical
  3. Treatment options – surgical
  4. How to prepare for the procedure
  5. How to take care after the procedure
  6. Cost of eye bag removal in Singapore
  7. How to find the best Doctor in Singapore

What are the causes of Eye Bags?

There are many reasons for the development of under eye bags and it is usually a combination of these that cause them in individual cases.

Eye bags in young people are usually caused by either stress, lack of sleep, or both.

In older people undergoing aging, the causes are a natural result of the aging process. Some people are also genetically predisposed to fat accumulation under the eyes, causing eye bags.

Aging often leads to the dissolving of the fat tissues that reside just underneath the skin.

When these tissues dissolve unevenly across the face and especially around the upper cheeks, it leaves swollen eye bags due to the accumulation of fat.

They may also be caused by a weakened orbital septum, which can no longer hold in the fat, leading to swollen eye bags.

Water retention is another common cause of swollen eye bags under the eyes.

Non-surgical Eye Bag Treatment Options

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are the most common and effective non-surgical method to counter eye bags or circles caused by aging since these can’t be corrected by lifestyle changes.

This treatment is ideal for people with a tear trough, that is, people who have hollowness under their eyes.

Dermal fillers are gels composed of the naturally occurring hyaluronic acid, which is injected into the face.

The injected gel counterchecks deflation caused by dissolving fat tissues and induces even distribution of fat across the face.

This ensures that your facial skin transitions smoothly from your forehead to your chin and there are no bloated fatty bags underneath your eyes, thus making you appear more youthful.

This treatment lasts for around one year. Injection of dermal fillers is a short procedure that takes about 15-20 minutes time.

Other non-surgical treatments for eye bag removal range from laser resurfacing to chemical peels and injection of fillers that induce a smoother transition across the skin of your face.

These treatments have the added benefit of treating your wrinkles and loose skin throughout your face, thus, lending you a younger and more rejuvenated look.

Surgical Options for Eye Bag removal

When eye bags are caused by excess accumulation of fat under the eyes, doctors usually go for surgical procedures.

This method involves the doctors surgically removing or altering the fat concentration under the eyes in order to get rid of the eye bags.

You have to ensure that the cosmetic surgeon you have zeroed in on to carry out the surgery is experienced and well qualified. After all, you would not want just about anyone to tamper with your face.

Eye Bag Surgery

This surgical treatment is called blepharoplasty. It involves changing removing the position of accumulated fat, which is followed by a laser treatment; it also tightens the under eye skin. In this, the surgeon makes an invisible incision into the natural, inner creases in the upper or lower eyelids. This can’t be seen from the outside. The excess fat is then siphoned out through this incision. The cut is stitched back with tiny stitches that naturally dissolve when healed.

Along with eye bags, blepharoplasty also helps in the removal of excess skin on the eyelids as well as around the eyes. Full-scale recovery in blepharoplasty may take over a month, though patients can usually resume day-to-day activities within a week of their eye bag surgery.

The recovery of the patient depends on the natural healing pace of their body as well as how well they follow the post-surgery instructions provided by the doctor.

Orbital Fat Repositioning

An alternative for eye bag removal is orbital fat repositioning. In this, rather than removing the fat, the tissue is moved. Moreover, in this type of treatment, some fat is left in the body and moved to fill the hollow area under the eyes. The fat is not thrown away.

The downtime in this procedure is generally around 7 days. However, you must note that this method is not for people who have dry eyes. A surgery can make dry eyes even worse. Therefore, you must consult a certified plastic surgeon before going for a surgical treatment for eye bag removal.

Lateral Canthoplasty

Some people also choose to go for Lateral Canthoplasty. This is done to tighten the loose or baggy skin under the lower eyelid, thus providing it with an appropriate amount of tone and strength. This is generally done together with the orbital fat repositioning surgery.

Consult extensively with your doctor and tell them all about your allergies if you have any. Also, make sure to follow their aftercare instructions stringently to get the most effective results as well as to ensure a smooth and uncomplicated recovery process.

How to prepare for an Eye Bag treatment?

You can opt for either non-surgical or surgical procedures to help counter under eye bags.

Either way a consultation with a cosmetic surgeon is recommended in order to know which treatment is best for you, whether surgery or dermal fillers for your eye bag treatment.

Different surgeons might suggest you different methods, therefore you must consult a trustworthy and experienced surgeon.

Discuss the symptoms with your doctor and inquire about the likely causes. The kind of treatment that will best counter your eye bags depends upon whether your condition is temporary or chronic.

Moreover, the treatment plan you choose should fit your facial anatomy and unique requirements.

Once you ascertain the actual treatment you will have to undergo, you should also inquire about the expenses as most of these procedures are not covered by insurance.

Some common questions to ask your doctor to better understand and anticipate the process include:

  • If there are any chances of the procedure causing further irritations and complications
  • How long will the recovery process be for your case and if there are certain food items or activities that need to be avoided during the aftercare period
  • The cost of the treatment
  • Are any follow-up treatments necessary
  • Is there anything that can improve your symptoms and overall condition
  • Is there anything that can worsen your symptoms and overall condition

How to take care after eye bag removal?

Medical treatment procedures for eye bag removal usually require anywhere between a day to a fortnight for the completion of the recovery process.

The non-surgical treatments are an easy and fast process, requiring minimal recovery time. A day or two is enough for the patients to return to daily activities, though mild swelling, red and irritated skin, or tenderness may persist for as long as 10 days.

The surgical procedures, on the other hand, may require more stringent aftercare.

While daily activities can be resumed within a week after surgery, full recovery is likely to be a long process and may last anywhere between 4-6 weeks.

The ease and time required for the recovery to complete usually depends on the patient’s ability to heal as well as their level of dedication in adhering to the doctor’s aftercare instructions.

What are some complications from eye bag removal?

While these procedures are very effective and provide long-term treatment for swollen under eye bags, they may sometimes cause irritation and other side-effects.

These may range from dry or watery eyes to swelling, partial and temporary sight loss, bruising, and blurred vision.

Though very rare, side-effects may also be severe in the form of bleeding, sight loss, drooping eyelids, injured eye muscles, or corneal abrasion.

In such cases, immediate follow-up treatment may be mandatory. Most of the milder side-effects are often anticipated by doctors and consequently, the aftercare package and instructions provide medication, balms, or eye drops to counter them.

In case the patient exhibits rarer and more severe side-effects, the cosmetic surgeon who oversaw the procedure must be immediately consulted.

What is the cost of Eye Bag Removal in Singapore?

The cost for surgical eye bag removal in Singapore is between $3000 to $7000.

The cost for non-surgical eye bag removal (dermal fillers) starts from $500.

Review of patients who have undergone Eye Bag Removal in Singapore

Here is one Singaporean patient sharing her experience:

The whole surgery procedure was hassle-free other then my own low threshold for pain. Pain was felt when the fats was being lifted up from the pocket to be snipped off.

Immediately after the surgery, for the first time I saw myself without eyebags under my eyes when I looked into the mirror. Swelling for the next few days was inevitable and I kept pressing icebag round my eyes throughout the days for a week. Propped up my head when I lay down.

I went back to office on the 6th day with my glasses on. Colleagues could see the slight change in my outlook but not knowing what had actually made the difference.

Had 2 or 3 rounds of review with Dr during the recovery stage to ensure my well-being.

I would say that I look perfectly good in a month’s time and life is back to normal but in a renewed “self”!

[2019 edition] How Tummy Tuck in Singapore could Restore your Youthful Abdominal Area

$

The stomach is the most stubborn body part. As you go through physical changes, like the aging process, extra skin and fat always find their way to gather around your middle.

When you live in Singapore, there are plenty of places where you can exercise or find restaurants that offer healthy foods.

However, exercise and diet alone are not always successful in restoring the curvy waist that you used to have when you were still young.

Having a flat abdomen is the goal of many men and women, not just in Singapore, but all around the world, as it is a hallmark of a gorgeous body.

And one of the ways to enhance your abdominal shape is to undergo a tummy tuck or abdominoplasty.

This cosmetic procedure is ideal if you have protruding abdomen because of stretched skin and muscles. It is also beneficial if you have sagging abdominal weakened by aging or pregnancy.

And of course, you may consider this procedure if you have been dieting and exercising but the extra fat in your abdominal area will not go away.

But before you consider it, you need to know if you are a good candidate for this procedure.

Who are the Best Candidates for this Cosmetic Procedure?

Tummy tuck in Singapore is one of the most successful cosmetic procedures. It sculpts your waistline while it smooths your stomach.

Although it is an effective procedure, not all people with excess fat in their abdomen are ideal candidates for tummy tuck.

  1. If you smoke, your physician would recommend quitting first before undergoing this surgery. The reason for this is that smoking increases your risk of complications during and after the procedure. You should quit six weeks before undergoing this surgery.
  1. Your weight should also be stable. The most ideal candidates for this procedure are those who are slim individuals with excess loose skin and fat in their abdomen. On the other hand, if you are obese, it is not a suitable solution for you.
  1. It is also ideal that you slim down first before doing this procedure. That is if you have a great amount of intra-abdominal fat around your internal organs.
  1. Your candidacy will also be affected if you still want to have kids. Keep in mind that any repaired muscles through this procedure will separate again if you decide to have a new baby.
  1. Most of all, you need to be physically healthy. In this way, you can safely tolerate this procedure.

What are Your Tummy Tuck Options in Singapore?

There are several options for this procedure.

  1. Full Abdominoplasty

The most common is the full or standard abdominoplasty. It aims to improve your upper and lower abdomen.

In here, the scar is found below your bikini line. It is a long scar to ensure maximum enhancement in the abdominal strength and shape. It provides general control enhancement in the abdomen.

This option is ideal if you had multiple pregnancies or had a significant weight loss.

  1. Mini-Tummy Tuck

Another option is the mini tummy tuck and its goal is to enhance your lower belly.

It is recommended for patients who suffer from a minor skin looseness. The skin is restricted to the lower abdomen. The scar created is shorter than the full abdominoplasty.

The recovery with this option is quicker than the standard option.

  1. Reverse Abdominoplasty

If you have excess fat and skin found in the upper abdomen because of a massive weight loss, the best option is the reverse abdominoplasty.

In here, the incision is done under the breast. Your surgeon will pull the excess skin from the bottom to the top, instead of top down.

How the Procedure is Done?

This procedure involves removal of your extra, loose abdominal skin. Once it is removed, your doctor will tighten up the abdominal muscles using sutures.

  1. During the procedure, your surgeon marks the location where the cuts are made. Then, he will inject a local anesthetic to numb the area and another injection to control the bleeding by constricting your blood vessels.
  1. When you undergo a full tummy tuck or abdominoplasty, the incision will be done above the pubic area and another one around the navel. During a mini-tummy tuck, a short incision is made.
  1. After that, your surgeon loosens the skin from the abdominal wall to the ribcage area. Then, stitches are placed in the ab muscles’ fascia. The goal of these sutures is to tighten the position and repair the muscles.
  1. Following suturing, your doctor may remove the extra fat through liposuction or other methods. The skin is then stretched over the cut line. From there, your doctor will eliminate the extra skin.
  1. The procedure is not finished yet. Your surgeon has to place your navel. The skin surrounding the navel is moved during the procedure but the navel stays in the same location.
  1. Your doctor will cut a hole and sutures it. Then, a tissue glue or staples are applied to close the incisions. If you undergo a full abdominoplasty, your doctor will insert drains to stop fluid buildup. These drains are plastic tubes. They are placed through a short incision below the main cut.

Recovering from Tummy Tuck Procedure

Most tummy tucks are considered as an outpatient procedure. You can leave your surgeon’s clinic or hospital a few hours after the procedure.

However, an overnight hospital stay is necessary if you have an extensive abdominoplasty. In this way, you can be monitored safely.

What to Expect For Tummy Tuck Procedure?

After the procedure, soreness is expected.

For the first week, you will feel uncomfortable. You may need to rest for the first few days. And by rest, it means that you need to stay at home. However, even if you need to stay at home, you need to walk around the house.

In this way, healthy circulation is maintained, especially if the procedure involved placing temporary drains in the incisions to remove fluid. If it is your case, you need to maintain the area clean and dry, until the drains are removed.

When Can You Work Again After Surgery?

You can go back to work after a month.

However, if your job requires you to just stay at your desk for hours, then your surgeon might prescribe returning to work earlier than four weeks.

But, if your job requires you to lift or perform strenuous activities, you can go back to work after a month or so.

What If You Have Kids?

Whether it is a mini-tummy tuck or a full abdominoplasty, you need to hire full-time help while recovering. It is especially true if you have small kids.

The reason for this is that lifting a child could negatively affect the results as it stretches the incision site causing prolonged swelling and bleeding. If that happens, the recovery time will increase.

However, if your kids do not need lifting as they are a little older, you can resume your parenting tasks, like cooking, driving or shopping after two weeks of surgery. But you must never carry your groceries or perform active tasks.

Ways to Choose a Plastic Surgeon

The most important decision you make when opting to undergo this kind of procedure is choosing the plastic surgeon in Singapore, who will perform it.

The surgeon must have specialized training and experience to guarantee that you will have both a safe and successful result.

The surgeon you must choose should have performed many tummy tucks before. Furthermore, the surgeon must have formal training in this field. For that reason, it is best to choose a surgeon with training and board certification. Plus, he/she must perform the procedure in an accredited surgical facility. It is vital.

Then, look at the before and after photos of his/her patients. Examine the results of the patients with similar bodies as yours. Doing so will give you an idea of the surgeon’s capacity to enhance your abdominal region.

Is it Possible to Combine Abdominoplasty with Other Cosmetic Procedures?

Yes, it is. Many patients undergo a mummy makeover. In this procedure, patients will undergo abdominoplasty and other procedures.

Doing so will reduce recovery time than if you opted for separate operations. Generally, liposuction and tummy tuck are combined to ensure that you achieve ideal stomach contour. The combination also improves the flanks and other areas of your abdomen, thereby, giving you a more youthful body.

A complete mummy makeover may include breast surgeries and other body contouring procedures.

What is the price of tummy tuck surgery in Singapore?

The price of tummy tuck in Singapore range from $12000 to $25000. The final price depends on the surgeon, the facilities used and how complicated your tummy tuck procedure is.

How Long Will the Outcome Last?

As long as you do not gain weight or have another pregnancy, the tummy tuck results are permanent.

Then again, this procedure cannot prevent the normal aging effects. In other words, as you age, your skin tends to get a little looser. But the skin loosening is not much.

However, if you gained weight then reduce weight dramatically after undergoing a tummy tuck, the skin in your abdomen would stretch out again. As a result, its overall contoured will be affected negatively.

Furthermore, if you get pregnant again, your abdominal skin will loose. For that reason, surgeons recommend this procedure only after you are done getting pregnant.

Then, if you need to lose weight, you have to do it before this procedure. Otherwise, the outcome will surely be affected.

It is also vital that you follow your plastic surgeon’s after-care instructions and visit his clinic for follow-up evaluation at recommended times.

How to find the best tummy tuck doctors in Singapore

Be sure to find a surgeon that is certified by the Ministry of Health. As long as the procedure is performed by a qualified plastic surgeon, this procedure will give you life-life-changing results. In that way, you will achieve a slimmer body that makes you look amazing every day.

If you wish to undergo this procedure, make sure to meet with a qualified cosmetic surgeon in Singapore for a thorough evaluation and consultation.

Complete Guide to Thread Lift in Singapore

$

Cosmetic surgeries and facelift now constitute a booming industry that caters to women and men across the world.

The Asian cosmetic industry is fast growing into a market leader especially with South Korea receiving thousands of medical tourists from all over the world seeking surgery.

These are usually cases where people are looking for extensive surgical procedures for cosmetic corrections.

Many of these are easily available in Singapore for an affordable sum and with the best quality. One such increasingly popular procedure is the PDO or Silhouette Soft thread facelift which is also commonly known as a thread lift.

It is an anti-aging treatment that ensures that corrects sagging skin and gives the face a youthful appearance.

With more and more numbers of women in Singapore as well as across Asia joining the work, societal pressure to look attractive and desirable is even higher.

These days the onus to look good and appear young has also fallen on men. Consequently, facelift, especially thread lift have proven to be a hassle-free process due to its quick results as well as negligible risk factors.

Why should you go for a Thread Lift?

Have ever worried about loose or sagging skin appearing across your face? Have these visible effects of aging made you feel conscious about your looks or given your headaches regarding how to fix them?

Then, you should stop worrying about this as everyone all over the world undergoes the same natural process.

Despite rationally being aware of this fact, it might often be difficult to not let societal expectations color your perceptions and drive your actions.

But if you wish to take corrective measures to boost your confidence, then you should unselfconsciously go for it.

These signs of aging have now become easier to counteract with thread lifts that take only an hour to complete with barely any downtime required to heal.

An ever-increasing number of people across Singapore are now looking to thread lifts as an effective alternative to painful surgical procedures.

Not only do thread lift give your face more volume thereby inducing a youthful look, but they also lend a better shape to your eyebrows and your jaws.

This procedure is especially suited to men and women who want immediate results but cannot afford or are not willing to undergo a longer recovery period.

If you are such a person then this is the anti-aging treatment for you.

What is a Thread Lift?

A thread Lift is a facial lift carried out with threads made of Polydioxanone (PDO) or Silhouette Soft threads.

Silhouette Soft is a suture thread with the component being a polymer called Ploy L-lactic Acid.

PDO on the other hand, are monofilament threads which are introduced underneath a layer of the facial skin in order to tighten the skin and lift it.

The process achieves this by catalyzing collagen growth which in turn has a rejuvenating effect. This corrective treatment for sagging and wrinkled skin is one of the most convenient currently available.

Not only does it show quick and visible results, but the process barely takes more than an hour.

This hassle-free process combined with a quick payoff has made it a very popular alternative to the traditional facelift carried out through cosmetic surgery, with more people across Singapore opting for it.

What does the process of Threat Lift constitute?

Thread lifts are a minimally-invasive treatment that seeks to correct the effects of aging that become evident due to loosening skin around the cheeks, neck, as well as jowl area.

The dissolvable monofilament thread used in the process is made of Polydioxanone and generally used by doctors to stitch up surgical incisions.

The process involves inserting these threads under the skin to form a support structure or framework that holds the skin into a tight position.

This gives back a shapely look to the face that may have been lost due to aging. Furthermore, it also induces the production of rejuvenating collagen that lends the face a naturally youthful look.

Nine months after the procedure the biocompatible threads are absorbed into the skin by hydrolysis.

The effects of the facelift continue to remain effective for another two years.

What are the different types of thread lifts?

Thread lifts, as implied by the very name, is carried out with the help of threads implanted underneath the skin.

These threads may be of two different kinds, the Nova or PDO threads and the Silhouette threads. Both of these have more or less the same benefits with some slight variation.

If you are contemplating getting a thread facelift, you might get confused about which one of the two FDA approved threads to opt for.

So let us look into the features and benefits of each type in detail.

  1. Silhouette Instalift – This process is carried out with biocompatible threads called Silhouette Soft containing the well-known polymer called Poly L-lactic Acid. This polymer has common usage in many medical applications such as suture threads, screws and rods for treating bone breakage and fractures, orthopedic pins, etc.Silhouette Soft threads contain small protrusions shaped like cones that provide traction and are designed to grab the skin. The introduction of the foreign body induces collagen growth around the thread. This gives the face a lifted look due to the production of new facial tissue around the strategically placed threads underneath the skin.
  1. PDO Facelift – This process uses synthetic suture threads whose main component is the perfectly biocompatible Polydioxanone or PDO. PDO facelift treats the visible after effects of aging in the form of wrinkles or loose skin primarily through the stimulation of collagen growth. The introduction of the foreign threads causes collagen stimulation that creates a rejuvenating effect lasting for about two years. There are three kinds of PDO threads used in facelifts which include cog sutures, mono threads, and screw threads. While the threads themselves provide support to sagging skin, each different kind produces varying levels of collagen growth and as such has slightly different treatment goals.Cog threads contain barbed protrusions that provide optimal support to sagging skin. They seek to stimulate maximum collagen growth to give your face a lasting youthful look. Mono threads, on the other hand, are smooth and minimally invasive. They are usually introduced into the skin in mesh-like patterns to produce a tightening effect.Mono threads are particularly effective in smoothening of wrinkles but do not ensure as much lifting as the other types of PDO threads. Screw threads are inserted into the needle in an intertwining pattern in combinations of two. They lend your face volume by reversing sunken parts of facial muscles to produce the much desired V-shaped jawline.

What are the benefits of a Thread Lift?

As evident from the previous sections, thread lifts are an easy and viable alternative to traditional surgical facelift.

People all over Singapore and across are the world are choosing to opt for it in higher numbers due to the many advantages it has over other anti-aging treatment methods.

The benefits that are characteristic of this procedure include:

  • Non-time consuming process – This treatment is also often referred to as a weekend facelift or lunchtime facelift. This is a reference to the one hour period of time it takes to complete the process as well as the short recovery period. Unlike surgical anti-aging treatments, this process is extremely helpful for people with busy schedules and for those who cannot afford to take a long time off from work or studies.
  • Lack of required downtime – This process, unlike regular surgical treatments, does not necessitate a long recovery period. This again ensures that working people, as well as those with important social obligations, can carry on with their business without having their cosmetic procedures hinder their routine.
  • Collagen growth induces natural rejuvenation – Apart from the facelift itself, the threads left underneath the skin have the positive effect of catalyzing the growth of collagen. This goes a long way to lending the skin of the face a naturally glowing and energized look.
  • Painless process –Unlike other surgical methods, Thread lifts are painless and the recovery process too is completely devoid of the usual side effects of surgery that include swelling, pain, and general soreness.
  • Minimal chances of risk –Since this process does not involve full out surgery it does not come with any of the risks usually associated with surgeries. Rather, leaving behind dissolvable PDO threads in the subcutaneous layer of the facial skin is medically proven to be harmless. After all, doctors have been stitching up cuts and surgical incisions which require the same threads to be behind in the wounds with no records of further harm.

What results can you expect?

The naturally dissolving sutures left in the skin remain there for about nine months. During this period, they lend support to your facial skin in order to lift them and set it in that position.

The threads have tiny barbs attached that allow them to provide better support to the face. This also ensures the restoration of that youthful plumpness that an aging face loses for the years.

These threads, when left strategically, can also lift your eyebrows and cheekbones, thus, giving your face and jawline that much sought after V-shape. A thorough consultation with your doctor will ensure that both of you can agree upon the best treatment process to give your face and features the shape you desire.

How safe is a Thread Lift?

Thread lift are a progressive anti-aging treatment process the goes on long after the threads have dissolved due to induced collagen stimulation.

As such, the process is free of any unanticipated risks. These threads tend to break down and dissolve within 4-6 months after their introduction in your face.

The threads as well as their components have been in use in various forms across pharmaceutical and surgical practices for many years without any known cases of complications arising.

This fact should be effective proof of their harmlessness.

What Complications or side effects are to be expected?

Thread lifts are generally safe procedures due to the biocompatibility of the threads used.

While soreness in and around the facial skin may persist for 2-4 days, they usually do not last for longer than a week. Compared to traditional surgical treatment methods, the aftereffects of thread lifts are quite mild.

An important thing to keep in mind before going for a thread lift is the experience of the doctor performing the treatment.

In case the doctor is inexperienced, there is a chance of a botched attempt. This might end with irregularities of skin ranging from outwardly visible subcutaneous knots to puckered or depressed skin.

Aftercare of Thread Lift

There are a few dos and don’ts that anyone undergoing thread lifts must keep in mind for the ongoing treatment to progress in the desired manner.

While the list is not extensive it is in no way any less important and must be followed for optimal success of the procedure. Some of the aftercare steps to take include:

  • Patients must sleep on their backs to help the swelling go down and to avoid exerting any pressure to the face.
  • Patients must avoid going for any dental treatments for at least two weeks after getting a thread lift as this may again cause displacement of the threads.
  • The face or any other treated area such as the neck must not have any pressure exerted on it to avoid causing any misalignment to the thread structure underneath the skin.

What is the price of Thread Lift in Singapore?

The final price depends on the doctor and clinic. In general, here is the approximate pricing for thread lift in Singapore, which includes doctor fee, reviews, consultation and also GST:

The price for thread lift in Singapore ranges from $1600 – $4800.

Just 3 procedures to waking up looking fabulous

With beauty being more heavily emphasised in our society these days, plastic surgery and make-up trends have evolved drastically over the years.

And while make-up should be used sparingly to enhance our natural features, the make-up that we know of today has quite a different take.

From pasting cheek tapes to wearing fake noses, excessive make-up and plastic surgery have ultimately eroded the true essence of beauty.

Truth is, a heavily made up face over a massively doctored countenance has become a thing of the past and simply cannot hold a candle to natural and effortless beauty.

But with age creeping up on us, such ethereal beauty may seem dauntingly out of reach for many.

For many of us, complexes such as wrinkles, freckles or even an unsubstantial nose-bridge are the very reasons of our ebbing confidence and we thereby, overcompensate by piling on make-up or turning to drastic plastic surgery procedures in hopes of holding on to what seems like a fading beauty.

However, nothing spells disaster than the beauty that deviates from its true nature.

So, if excessive make-up and drastic plastic surgery aren’t the solutions, what can be done to achieve that celestial beauty that we desire?

The answer lies in 3 simple procedures.

Botox

With ageing comes an uninvited guest – wrinkles. As we age, our skin experiences a loss like no other.

Not only does our skin get thinner and drier, but it also has less elasticity and becomes more vulnerable to damage.

This combination becomes the hotbed of the much-dreaded wrinkles. Waking up to the wrinkles sprawled out over our faces may not be the best sight to be greeted with first thing in the morning.

Not only do they remind us of how dangerously close we are to ageing, but it also makes us look dull and perpetually tired.

Worst of all, no amount of make-up is able to mask the lines of ageing that are hiding beneath the layers of foundation.

However, that does not mean that we have to live with the stain of ageing on our faces.

Botox is the very solution to smoothening out and leaving absolutely no traces of ageing on our countenance. Also known as Botulinum toxin, Botox works its magic by blocking signals from the nerves to the muscles.

With Botox being injected, the muscle can no longer contract, thereby causing the wrinkles to relax and soften, which results in the smooth and even skin surface that is reminiscent of youthhood.

Fillers

With Botox erasing the appearance of ageing, fillers come in to supplement and add volume to areas that may have fallen short of expectation.

Whether it is an inadequate nose bridge that requires some height, a thin lip line that requires some plumping or a weak chin that requires some shaping, the possibilities with fillers are endless.

Not only that, the beauty of fillers lies in that, the results are natural unlike a major plastic surgery procedure of a chin implant or Rhinoplasty.

Fillers act as an enhancer, enhancing your natural beauty without you losing the essence of your appearance.

Made out of collagen and hyaluronic acid gel, fillers contain naturally-occurring substances in our skin that contribute to volume and hydration, giving us the perk of youth that ageing so denies.

With fillers, be prepared to say goodbye to the daily hassle of exaggerated contours along your nose bridge for the illusion of a higher nose bridge or the unnatural overlining of your lip line for that false appearance of a plumper and alluring lips.

Also, since the result of fillers is not permanent, this means that you have the power to change up your appearance as you desire and that in our opinion is, the cherry on the cake.

PICOCARE Laser

Porcelain skin. Imperceptible pores. Polished complexion.

Indeed, nothing is more appealing than a smooth and clear complexion when it comes to looking and feeling your very best.

Think of our skin as a blank canvas and our facial features as embellishments to the masterpiece. Without a clear skin would tantamount to a blemished masterpiece.

Truth is, no matter how much make-up you slap on or how many procedures you undergo, the final result will never live up to your expectations without first starting on a clean canvas, aka a clear complexion.

And thankfully, getting one isn’t as challenging as you think it to be.

With PICOCARE being a laser treatment for pigmentation, melasma, scars and reduction of pore size, it is the latest cosmetic treatment that is your one-stop solution to all your skin-related woes.

Not only does PICOCARE laser have the capacity to breathe life into your dull and tired looking skin, but it’s also the answer to reversing the damage done by hormones, sun exposure and environmental pollution.

With PICOCARE laser working on four different wavelengths treatments – 1064nm, 660nm, 595nm and 532nm, this enhances its ability to remove more pigments in lesser time.

And the result – a taut, smooth and a clear complexion that no amount make-up or surgery can achieve.

5 Reasons Why You Should Get A VASER Lipo Than Other Fat Reduction Treatments

When it comes to body contouring and fat reduction, liposuction is the go-to solution for many.

Not only can liposuction zap away the stubborn fats around our problematic areas, but it also aids in overall health with studies revealing that patients with high levels of triglycerides experienced an average 43 percent reduction after liposuction.

Yet, liposuction has much more to deliver than just a reduction of fat cells in our bodies, it also can stimulate collagen growth, keeping the skin firm and wrinkle-free. And so, with all that it has to offer, it is no wonder liposuction has helped many in their journey to reinventing their more confident and beautiful self.

However, with advancements in the aesthetics realm, liposuction has evolved drastically. Fine-tuning its predecessor’s technology for a more effective and desirable outcome, VASER Lipo is born.

What is VASER Lipo?

VASER (Vibration Amplification of Sound Energy at Resonance) Lipo is a gentler and less invasive form of liposuction to eliminate and liquefy unwanted fat cells in targeted areas.

With its targeting capabilities, VASER Lipo is able to accurately target areas with unwanted fat while leaving surrounding tissues undisturbed.

Patients are ensured a more contoured and defined appearance.

So what is it that VASER Lipo delivers that makes it a much-preferred liposuction procedure? Here are 5 reasons why.

1) VASER Lipo Is Able To Target Problematic Areas

VASER Lipo uses ultrasound waves to liquefy fat cells from the targeted body part which is then safely and carefully removed via suction.

This special method selectively targets only the fat cells so that the surrounding areas such as blood vessels, nerves and connective tissues are undisturbed.

It is this targeting capability that VASER Lipo has that sets it apart from other fat reduction treatments. It is able to target larger areas such as thighs, stomachs and buttocks, and even in the most delicate areas such as the chin, neck, chest, knees and calves.

2) VASER Lipo Can Contour Your Body Better Than Other Fat Reduction Treatments

VASER Lipo allows you to kill two birds with one stone when it comes to getting the perfect body.

While some fat reduction treatments can help with the elimination of fats in the body, its capabilities are limited as it is unable to further contour your body, denying you of that well-sculpted body.

Other minimally invasive fat removal machines cannot give you the defined and smooth outcome that Vaser liposuction can achieve.

VASER Lipo has different variants that are designed to provide the results that patients desired.

VASER Lipo is not only able to exterminate the unwelcomed fats, but it is also able to further tone the body and achieve the well-hewn body of your dreams.

Besides the usual fat reduction liposuction, VASER can also be used to create athletic toning and defined muscles.

This muscle sculpting treatment is called VASER Hi-def Lipo. It is a particularly popular body sculpting procedure among men.

3) VASER Lipo Has Minimal Downtime

One of the best things about VASER Lipo is that patients are able to notice the difference soon after the treatment is completed.

However, the treated areas will take another three months for the full results to show. The areas may also swell with minimal bruising and numbness which will improve in just a few days.

While the downtime is minimal, patients are advised to don compression garment for the next 3 weeks to encourage a speedier healing process.

It is also recommended to keep a healthy diet and hydrate regularly while avoiding consuming fish oil, garlic, ginger and ginkgo supplements before the VASER Lipo procedure.

4) VASER Lipo Is Minimally Invasive

Being a minimally invasive procedure, VASER Lipo is done with tiny incisions made to the targeted area. VASER Lipo uses a much gentler but more effective method.

With the method of liquefying the fat, this minimises risks of injury to the blood vessels and nerves, resulting in less bleeding, bruising and pain.

5) VASER Lipo Promises A More Desirable Outcome

VASER Lipo is indeed the art of body sculpting.

Compared to non-invasive fat reduction treatments, this improved liposuction technique provides doctors with the technology to create dramatic contouring that is able to treat not one but multiple desired areas in a single procedure.

Because VASER Lipo is a gentler version of liposuction, this fat reduction treatment is less painful with minimal swelling and downtime.

Not only does VASER Lipo permanently remove stubborn fat bulges, but it also improves the texture of the skin, resulting in a smoother and more natural outcome.

One of the several advantages of this procedure is that it also stimulates the production of collagen.
